3.0 out of 5 stars 12 significant fortunes, October 23, 2006
This is a book by John T Flynn who wrote with his biased opinion right out in the open. In here you will find 12 concise biographies of these 12 individuals: Fugger The Rich, John Law, The Rothschilds, Robert Owen, Cornelius Vanderbilt, Hetty Green, Mitsui, Cecil Rhodes, Basil Zaharoff, Mark Hanna, John D Rockefeller and JP Morgan. There are 500 pages of some pretty interesting stories that would have been much better if the author could have kept his opinion out of it. He had a negative slant towards everyone he wrote about because he seemed to despise people who had made a lot of money. That being said is the reason I can only give it 3 stars. After getting past the bias the bio's where pretty well written and gave a general overview of their lives and affairs. There wasn't a great deal of business info that you would get from some other writers but I would say there was enough to keep you interested.
