5.0 out of 5 stars Took you guys long enough
Sound almost exactly like Children of Bodom, but a but more heavier. Terrific mix of melodic guitars, keyboarding and black/death vocals. Defintely worth checking out, get "the scaffold scenario". It's the highlight IMHO.

2.0 out of 5 stars Children of Bodom imitators?
This band could have been really original if it wasn't for a "minor" detail: Children of Bodom. When you listen to Throne of Chaos, the comparisons with Children of Bodom are inevitables. From the vocalist, the rhythms and riffs, to the tempos and choirs, everything seems to be copied from Children of Bodom's "Hatebreeder" and "Something...

[A] review of this cd says that "Wild Child" Alexi Laiho is on this cd, no he is not. As much as this cd rules, it is not Laiho...just a similar vocalist. Anyways, this release is fantastic, obviously it can be compared to Children Of Bodom, musically I think they equal the playing of Children Of Bodom but they have their own distinct sound that makes them their own band. Best tracks off this cd, well...they're all good, I like the first 4 the best, but buy it and make your own mind up.

This cd is one of the best cds that came out in 2000. Very very good. Production is killer. Drumming is very very good. Great guitar riffs. Sounds a lot like Bodom and In Flames. Overall very good. The CD is very short I wish it was longer.

Best song: From Clarity to Insanity (Track 1)

If you like Children of Bodom or In Flames, you'll like this one! I bought the Menace and Prayer CD and I am constantly listening to it!

One bad thing... the cd is too short

2.0 out of 5 stars Children of Bodom imitators?, January 2, 2004

This band could have been really original if it wasn't for a "minor" detail: Children of Bodom. When you listen to Throne of Chaos, the comparisons with Children of Bodom are inevitables. From the vocalist, the rhythms and riffs, to the tempos and choirs, everything seems to be copied from Children of Bodom's "Hatebreeder" and "Something Wild". ToC must add or do something different in the future (they have a new singer, with clean vocals, in their last album), so they won't be compared with CoB, who gave their music a personal touch of quality in their latest releases (I do believe that the Bodom boys have more quality; simply better!)...
It's not that the fact of being an CoB fan makes me hate all other copies. The opposite; I wish there were more bands like them. But in this case, Throne of Chaos sounds too repetitive all along the album, with a sound that didn't convince me. Even the length of the songs were copied!...
I bought the album (u$S4!) because in the store label said: "like Children of Bodom"...man, they were right!

5.0 out of 5 stars Wild child is the greatest, April 11, 2001
This review is from: Menace & Prayer (Audio CD)
Wild child from children of bodom doing great work as always. No matter what band he is in he will always rule. If you like children of bodom, In flames, arch enemy and the haunted you should like this. This is incredible.
