Lizzy Borden - 'Menace To Society' (Metal Blade),
By
This review is from: Menace to Society (Audio CD)
Originally hit the stores in 1986, as this was Lizzy Borden's 2nd album. Some might say this band resembles somewhat of a Poison or Spinal Tap rip-off. You decide. I've always liked this '90's metal act. Tunes here I liked best were the heavy duty "Notorious", "Terror On The Town", "Love Kills" {my personal anthem} and this disc's most notable track, the title cut "Menace To Society". Line-up: Lizzy Borden-vocals, Alex Nelson and Gene Allen-guitars, Mike Davis-bass (?) and Joey Scott Harges-drums. Lizzy's biggest influence is obviously Alice Cooper. Should draw in old school fans and followers of Lazz Rockit, Overkill, Raven, Sanctuary and possibly Manilla Road. No a bad pick.

Gets you going.,
This review is from: Menace to Society (Audio CD)
Menace to Society is Lizzy Borden's heaviest release. I find it to be a little more aggressive than Love You to Pieces. All ten of the tunes are pretty good. The musicianship and production are tight. The song lyrics are also far from boring. Lizzy has got a voice that's very unique--he can really hit the high notes too. He sings great the whole album. Menace to Society is pure energy from beginning to end. The guitar playing is cool throughout. The song that I like the most is "Notorious." "Terror on the Town" has a good guitar riff also. I like the drum intro to "Brass Tactics" too. Menace to Society is worth a listen.

Lizzy Lays A Heavy Barrage!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Menace to Society (Audio CD)
I've got all of Lizzy Borden's stuff, but this album is the best of the bunch. I've had "Menace to Society" for a few years and I still think that it's one of the best hardrock albums out. Too bad it fell through the cracks and didn't get the attention it deserved. "Notorious" is my personal favorite song. Rebellion is what the lyrics all have in common, and this is one no-holds-barred barrage of hardrock. Lizzy's best.
