A secret agent on the trail of UFOs,
By R. Bagula "Roger L. Bagula" (Lakeside, Ca United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Menacers (Mass Market Paperback)
This books is an old spy novel from the James Bond era of the 60's
which actually talks about UFOs in an intelligent way. Nobody believed the governments reports on them. Nobody does to this day... Here we have a Soviet plot designed to make America look bad in Mexico of all places. With hippies all around and Mexico being the drug smuggling capitol of the time stories of flying saucers just weren't getting a lot of play compared to the Beatles Yellow Submarine. The Matt Helm series was turned into several movies in this era as well. Here we have him wondering around Mexico investigating phony -baloney UFO stories with his latest girl friend. The ending is somewhat strange, but mostly not very idealistic. I kind of enjoyed the straight talk on UFOs in such an unexpected place.

This is another classic in the Matt Helm Series. It is a great read in the spy genre. I think it is better than the James Bond series. Great book!
