Timeless Tales 5 stars review,
By "tteditor" (Washington DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Menage a Magick (Wizard Twins, Book 1) (Paperback)
by Amy L. TurpinThe magick of the world is dying. The only way to bring rejuvenation is to once again ally the Wizards of the Cauldaran and the Sorceresses of the Covenani. The Wizard Twins must claim their Sorceress mate. The Wizard Twins of House Veraga, Lasan and Drago, have found their mate, but have been unable to claim her due to her unreasonable fear of joining with the brothers. It seems there are more than mere maidenly fears at work here and the two men must figure out how to ease her into their life and their bed. Princesses Brianna of House Sellane, the ruling family of the Covenani, is the chosen consort of Lasan and Drago, but due to the separation of the Wizards and Sorceresses she has heard horrible tales of the painful mating that Wizard Twins subject their consorts. She is fearful, and she is the most stubborn creature imaginable! She fights her attraction to both Twins, but soon realizes that her body and her power will not be denied. Unfortunately, there are evil forces at work to prevent the alliance and rebalance of power and Brianna soon discovers that even her own house is no longer safe. With the emergence of her power soon at hand and the dangers surrounding her, Lasan and Drago have run out of time to persuade the little princess there will be no pain or harm to her as their consort, only incredible pleasure. In order for them to join as mates, the joining must take place at the moment her power emerges and that time is now. Can Brianna overcome her lifelong fears of mating with Wizard Twins? Can Lasan and Drago keep the princess safe? And the other Wizard Twins? They must all claim their consorts to right the magick in the world. This is a time of great peril and only the strongest can rebuild all that was lost. What a sensual read! The imagination involved in this work is unbelievable. There are strong, interesting, funny characters and situations mixed with just the right amount of danger. For the fantasy lover, this is for you! Don't miss out!

The world was very interesting. Original. The men were incredable. The story enjoyable enough if a little on the short side for something that really could have been in depth to drawl out the characters and the universe they live in... That said - the leading lady or consort was such a childish brat! What was wrong with her? Couldn't stand her. But everything was fine once she was properly had.
As original as the world was - the formula used with the characters was pretty standard (except there is two men instead of one). Boy(s) want girl, virginal girl has irrational fear or hate for basically good guy(s), girl is in trouble a couple times - rescued but still won't be reasonable. Finally bedded. Happily ever after with a prologue that sets up sequels for her sisters. The sex scenes are somewhat racier than standard romance novels but honestly there is hotter (and more) in a Stephanie Lauren's novel. The 3 stars are for the guys and the world - the girl just annoyed me too much and I felt it could have been a good deal longer -

ON the world of Sentmar magic is contained in the bodies of the male, Twin wizards, and the female, princess. Only when the three are joined do they come into their greatest powers.
Brianna, has only heard horror stories of the joining. As a matter of fact there have been no joined pairs in a thousand yrs. Now all the magic is going away. She has to join with Lasan and Drago. Lasan and Drago are twins with one soul and heart in 2 bodies. They have been promised their Consort, but Brianna is unwilling to join with the both of them. However, the unmagiced people are begining to attack and will soon overcome both male and female magic users if the balance is not adjusted. I really didn't think this would be a good read. But it is not just a good romance, it has a great plot and I hope she intends to write the story of Brianna's two sisters. It was a very good fantasy.

Boring...,
This review is from: Menage a Magick (Wizard Twins, Book 1) (Paperback)
I normally love books written by Lora, especially if they involve menage, but for some reason this book did not work for me. I think a lot of time was wasted in detailing the setting of the story and too little time was given to the characters. If you are looking for a good series, try the August brothers or the Bound Hearts series instead....

I bought this as an ebook. It was one of the first that I have read from Ellora's Cave. It was extremely good. I love the chase that happens between the two twin brothers and the princess. She is aroused by the two men, I mean geez who wouldn't they sounded dreamy, but she is so afraid of the possibility of what would happen that she subdues her attraction for them. The sex is steamy as with all of the authors from Ellora's Cave. If male/female/male novels are your thing then you should definetly check this one out, even if you aren't the plot of this novel was an engrossing one so even if you are skeptical you should still give it a chance.

Spoiled Consort Gets Two Men,
By S. L. Leuchs "stacemay1" (Glendale, AZ United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Menage a Magick (Wizard Twins, Book 1) (Paperback)
Brianna is to be the consort of twins. She doesn't want to know them, be around them or be with them. In her mind, they are not good people and she wants nothing to do with them.
It seems that she is spoiled, selfish and only thinks of herself. The twin brothers that are betrothed to her seem to only want to care for her and pleasure her beyond belief. But, it isn't until they are joined inside her that she begins to care for them... The sex in the book is good, but the story leaves something lacking. I would suggest going with one of Lora Leigh's other series.

$8.99 is TOO MUCH to pay for this,

This review is from: Menage a Magick (Wizard Twins, Book 1) (Paperback)
Save your hard earned money for a book worth reading - this one is NOT worth $8.99. The writing is uninspired, the plot is formulaic, and the story is obviously a set up for the heroine's sisters. As a result, I felt cheated out of a good book that had potential. It was too short!
Maybe if the heroine wasn't such a pansy, the sex scenes were a tad more numerous, and the book had 150 extra pages of compelling plot, I'd say "Go out and blow $9 on this book!" But let's be serious. Laurell K. Hamilton creates better alternate realities (at 300+ pages) and her books sell for $7.99. Black Lace books offer more satisfying spice (at 250+ pages) and don't ask for more than $7.99. Weighing in at 148 pages, Menage A Magick should cost about the same price as a Harlequin Blaze ($4.50) - and even the Blaze books have more than 200 pages. This book gets two stars because: it has potential and some people don't mind reading a ridiculously short book. I do. Lora Leigh should be kicking herself in the behind for letting her story go to print at such an inflated price. At the very least, she should be kicking Ellora's Cave.

This was a decently enough written romantica fantasy (cliches and all) but for $8+ it should've been way longer than 141 pages!
For some reason it rests upon Brianna, the youngest of the three Princessess of Covenanti, to repair the rift between the Covenanani Sorceresses and their natural mates the Cauldaran Wizards. Her mother, the Queen, has surprisingly agreed to the alliance between Brianna and the two (yeah, you read that right) wizards Lasan & Drago (they're twins and in this world two parts of a whole and inseparable). Brianna, though attracted to the twins, is scared out of her silly little mind because her evil, maniacally cackling nurse tells her frightening tales of the twins. Brianna, being a naive and not-so-bright pretty young thing, believes every word though everything she's seen and experienced of the twins tells her differently. She fights the union, acts like a snotty brat and eventually submits to be the filling in the "Wizard Sandwich" (as the books back cover so tactfully puts it!)

Menage a Magick is Magic!,

This review is from: Menage a Magick (Wizard Twins, Book 1) (Paperback)
Ms. Leigh one of the Leading Ladies of Erotica has crafted a gem for the readers. Menage a Magick is a finely crafted story. It is full of the intensity Ms. Leigh uses to capture the hearts of her readers. This is the first installment in the Wizards' series. It is about the outwardly rebellious Princess Brianna. She is rebelling against the arranged liaison between herself and the wizard twins Lasan and Drago. Princess Brianna is to be consort to Lasan and Drago. The Fate of the Planet Sentmar depends on Brianna facing the inner turmoil that could lead to the downfall of her people and accept both Lasan and Drago as mates. This is an extreme erotic and moving story. Ms. Leigh has delivered yet again.
