I used the Praying exercises during last 3 months. I had problems with my joints, and back pain.Now I am able to return to my hobby- Folk Dancing.

I was so happy to find this book when searching on-line for ways to reduce my chronic hip pain. I had heard all about Dr. Mendes' background and years of expertise as a top hip specialist so it was an easy decision to purchase this book and try out his "prayer" routines. I was a little sceptical at first but once I started doing this regularly, it became a welcome part of my day. The exercises are easy to do and by now I have it down to 20 mins each morning. I love it! The pain in my hip has subsided drastically, I am regaining mobility in both hips and spine and i am able to start the day with a smile again.
I highly recommend this book and the Mendes prayer system to anyone with hip pain.

I first read this book in its original limited distribution edition. Back then, this system was experimental and used only in physiotherapy for the treatment of chronic pains and the elderly. I was glad to find this new edition which was also revised and updated for current living and activities.

I've been using these exercises for the past few years and the regimen Dr. Mendes puts forward is both effective and does not take too much of my time. As the exercise routines are modular, you can pick and choose between them to find your best fit. Every once in a while I shuffle in a new drill and retire another one to see how my body reacts.

My daily routine helps keep my back pains in check and keeps an old sports injury in my knee from flaring up. Granted these exercises are no replacement for a proper workout to build stamina or keep a diet but their therapeutic properties are very effective in dealing with injuries and speeding recovery.

Like most people , I suffer from chronic back pain and am constantly looking for ideas and systems that can help reduce the frustration and use of pain killers.
Professor Mendes is well known for his decades of work in Orthopedics and surgery , and while searching through Amazon , this book caught my eye.
This book is not a novelty item , it is simply unique in its approach to pain reduction by using extremely gentle, repetitive exercises that over time may actually improve the quality of my life.

The exercises are aimed at hip joints primarily , but seem to have some beneficial effects on my back.
A few minutes a day , before I get out of bed in the morning , and I can start the day on my feet!
I have currently given this 4 stars and I will update to 5 if it continues to work for me

I'm in my mid-30s. I've had some strange hip pains for a couple years now, with no observable problems in MRI. I thought I'd give this book and the exercises therein a try, although I didn't expect much. After 1 week I started noticing a bit less pain. After 2 weeks the pain is much more reduced. After a month the pain is minimal and I've noticed an improved flexibility in my hips and back that I didn't realize was missing!
