"Go to Cookbook",
By Cilla Thompson "Happy Traveler" (Washington DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Mendocino Mornings (Paperback)
This cookbook, drawn from food served at the Inn in Mendocino, is a delight. The majority of recipes are for breakfast items but the book also includes sweets which await you when you return from an afternoon hike. I have not found one recipe which was not excellent. The array of dishes has some standard breakfast items but many have a little twist...a special spice or a extra touch that makes them notable. So many people asked me for the recipes that I bought a number of copies to give as hostess presents.

easy recipes and a good read--,
This review is from: Mendocino Mornings (Paperback)
Mendocino Mornings is not only full of wonderful recipes, it makes a great read for anyone interested in the Northern California coastal village of Mendocino. Each chapter opens with a page or two highlighting one of Mendocino's many and varied charms/attributes. One really gets a feel for the quaintness and relaxation of the slow little village, and the imagined luxury of breakfasts at the Joshua Grindle Inn breakfast table. I myself had never cooked much of anything before this cookbook, but the recipes are straightforward and failproof. The frittatas are a welcome change to our morning omelettes, and the Berry Stuffed French Toast is a creation I've definitely never seen anywhere else! I highly recommed Mendocino Mornings for breakfast lovers, and everyone else too.
