4.0 out of 5 stars Excellant Guide Book to Europe especially for Mennonites
This is a very complete guide book to much of Europe. It covers Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and Italy. 2.0 out of 5 stars The Mennonite Tourguide to Western Europe
I bought this in preparation for a genealogy-focused trip to Europe. It had been recommended by a friend, but I found it to be woefully outdated, poorly printed, and in dire need of proof-reading. I'd recommend looking elsewhere for travel information.

4.0 out of 5 stars Excellant Guide Book to Europe especially for Mennonites, November 20, 2000
This is a very complete guide book to much of Europe. It covers Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Holland, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, and Italy. The book itself is a very good general guide and offers many practical travel tips. I have traveled some of the areas covered in the book and I am very impressed by how well the book details these areas. In addition the book takes a very indepth look at Mennonite history and points out many locations where events key to Mennonite history took place. With this book you can visit some of the sites where the early Anabaptists were martyred; and, you can locate one of the original caves where early Anabaptists probably worshiped. But, what's really nice is the book also covers sites unrelated to Mennonite history that would interest the Mennonite (or any other) tourist. I really do recommend this book.

Please be careful when ordering though. The edition I just received is a bound photocopy of the original edition. All is black and white (the original was in color according to the references to color codes in the text). The photographs (that should have been beautiful) are very poor reproductions. Really, I give the book 5 stars for content, but I give this edition 3 stars for packaging.

I will average out the score and rate the book 4 stores. Still, where else are you going to find this information so well presented? All in all I have to recommend it!
