Pleasant Surprise,
By Paul Holmes (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Men's M Series 9" Boxerjock® Bottoms by Under Armour (Apparel)
I saw all the glowing reviews and I have found Under Armour shorts to be a bit over-rated in the past. I am from Maryland originally, and that's where UA was founded so my friends have been using their gear for a decade now. In the past, the gear I have purchased made by UA tended to be ill-fitting and the fabric was incredibly easy to tear and not durable (made in Guatemala). I bought both a boxerjock and a compression short recently and I like both. Yes, they do fit tight and always have. Like really tight. They are supposed to. For one, some American apparel makers size a medium as a 34 waist and others as a 32 waist. There is no standardized sizing in the U.S., unlike most countries. U.A. Gear size medium is DEFINITELY sized for a 32 waist. In fact, if you have a 30 inch waist, I'd still go with a medium unless you really want a tight fit. On the plus side of this, the boxerjock is supportive of your muscles and makes exercising do a lot less damage to your muscles by cradling them. I personally prefer the compression short over the boxerjock for athletics. Its definitely not comfortable enough for everyday wear but the compression fit is a must if you are doing serious athletics. If you just want nice (though expensive) everyday underwear though, the boxerjock is a good choice if you are looking for something made out of synthetic fabrics to deal with heat or sweat. I wish it was clearer before purchase about the difference between the various inseam lengths available on the boxer-jock. A 6 inch inseam is VERY short and I know that surprises some people. If you have not worn trunks before I'd suggest starting out with the 9-inch version and seeing how you like it. A 6 inch inseam is going to give you more freedom of movement, but less support for your thighs and is going to ride up a bit more. The "long" boxerjock I assume provides better leg support but I personally find underwear that long to be somewhat uncomfortable, especially if you have thick athletic legs, unless you are going to just wear it for sports competitions in which case support probably matters more than comfort.

I live in Houston where it is hot and humid. These are very comfortable in hot weather as they prevent chafing. When I travel and walk around alot, I also have problem with chafing and these are indispensable. Great product.

This is must have. They are great for activity use but I love mine so much I bought more and wear them everyday. The soft front pouch gives you support but also allows you to breath while the legs area little tighter and run up your legs. AWESOME

Sizing chart is wrong,

"Merchant's sizing chart" for this item is wrong. Men's medium is listed as 32-34" waist, but it's actually for a 30-32" waist. Seller exchanged the product for me and paid for return shipping (after a week's delay), but why hasn't this product page been fixed?
For correct sizing chart go to http://www.underarmour.com.

These UA boxerjocks are super comfortable and very high quality.
If you are on the higher end of a particular size I recommend going to the next size higher as these are underwear not compression shorts, I am normally size large (36-38 waist) and the XL fit perfect. You will be amazed, you cannot even tell you are wearing underwear, no roll-ups on the leg and no pinching the boys or their glove. The binding on the thigh from the 9" inseam took some getting use to as I am not use to anything tight around my thigh but after approx 5 minutes I could not even tell they were on. Nothing I hate worse then underwear creeping up the leg or crotch so I highly recommend the 9" inseam as they do stay were you want them. Worth every cent, pricey I know but how can you put a $$ figure on all day comfort. The jock section offers nice support without undue compression. The wide and soft waistband is extremely comfortable. Based upon reviews I read before I purchased these underwear they seem to last years and years, so in the long run they are cost effective. Cotton underwear (previously used 2(x)ist and they started to fall apart after one year) for me are history, nothing but UA underwear in my underwear drawer.

Let me first say that I have 6 pairs of these!! I read a lot of reviews on Amazon which ultimately helps me in my purchase and so I figure I return the favor to everyone out there contemplating. First of all, I've ran 18 miles on these and no chaffing. Second, I've spent many summers in the deep south in heavy uniform (in the military) with these and felt super comfortable. Third, these go perfect with our lame uniform shorts that are way too short and it's quite embarrassing not to wear these and doing sit ups while your partner has to stair down at your baggy shorts! Lastly, they are battle tested, with stood several months of deployment down range! Yes, I do own several compression shorts but they are few dollar more than these which I don't like and I also don't like the fact that they are way too tight. Under Armour definitely got this one right!!

My boyfriend does a lot of walking for work. He's been complaining about his legs grinding together and irritating his skin. So, I decided to look for a longer inseam underwear for him. When he tried these Under Armour underwear on he instantly loved them and wanted a pair for everyday of the week! He says they're extremely comfortable, reduces your sweat and are a perfect length!

Great comfort and very high build quality. Easy to maintain the garment by washing it in the washer with Dark Woolite in the Wool Cycle, and allowing them to air dry or dry on light heat. One year now on 10 sets and they all look brand new. Best underware owned to date.

Haven't worn another brand in 9 years,
This review is from: Men's M Series 9" Boxerjock® Bottoms by Under Armour (Apparel)
Nine years ago I tried on a pair of Under Armour Boxer Briefs in my seemingly endless search for a good pair of underwear. They seemed way overpriced at the time but figured I'd give them a try anyway. Well, I tried them on and the next day went out and bought several more pairs and have never worn another brand of underwear.
To put it simply they feel like a second skin and to wear anything else would just feel weird. Only once recently did I have a problem with the waistband elastic coming apart on the "newer" 9" variation but that was only one of them and every pair I've bought since hasn't had a problem. I do hope to reach out to Under Amour to see if they will make it right and will update if they do.

I play badminton & at times wear white so I don't like to see my undercoatings thru the shorts. These fit the bill nicely, smooth under armour I don't notice visually or physically except for the fact that they don't slide down or retain moisture. They are a great pair of extra skin that keep me dry and moving unhindered...greased lightning!
