5.0 out of 5 stars Compression shorts
I chose this product because of a problem with my hip -- I wanted some support to help the muscles strengthen without putting too much stress on the joint. I have felt more confident wearing them as they have given me this support without binding or constricting.

The customer service staff was very helpful in resolving a shipping problem.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not thrilled
The compression shorts I bought from Safe-T-Gard were the least expensive ones available, but that price comes with a catch, actually 2 catches. The first one is that although they fit right in every other way, these shorts are uni-sex styling, a fact omitted in the product description but clearly displayed on the package. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not thrilled, October 15, 2007
The compression shorts I bought from Safe-T-Gard were the least expensive ones available, but that price comes with a catch, actually 2 catches. The first one is that although they fit right in every other way, these shorts are uni-sex styling, a fact omitted in the product description but clearly displayed on the package. Now they may fit right for females, but there's just no room for my junk in these drawers. That leads to the second catch, that although I wrote the seller an e-mail asking to rectify the situation, I received no reply.

All told, I'd have to say: shop for a quality product that fits, from a supplier that will support their customers.

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't Agree, October 6, 2007
This review is from: Mens Compression Short (Available in 4 Colors) (Misc.)
Wanted some compression shorts to wear while bicycle riding and for general purposes. Was torn between these and UnderArmour. Unfortunately, in this case, the lower price equals lower quality. I know others gave these high marks. I can't. The fabric is lightweight and provides very little compression. I ordered the same item in black and blue. Oddly, the black pair was made out of an even lighter grade fabric than the blue pair. Odd, and certainly a red flag.
There are not worth the price. You will probably be disappointed and do what I did and toss them in the drawer and never wear them. For compression shorts, I suggest spending the extra money and getting something of a heavy grade that will actually compress.

3.0 out of 5 stars get what you pay for, September 16, 2007
The compression shorts are basically what you pay for. The material quality is good, but the assembly lacks. The seams are large & can cause hot spots on long runs rather than prevent. I've had to wear them wrong side out to assist in the large rough seams. The fit is good - just assembly quality is lacking.

1.0 out of 5 stars Compared to Asics, July 22, 2010

These shorts start off with their advertising all over the waist band, which is not in the advertised picture - not appreciated. Then they are very difficult to put on, compared with the slightly more expensive Asics. Then they have no crotch support, unlike Asics, and a similar observation to another bad review here. I thought this kind of item was pretty similar across the manufacturer board. Wrong. The same could be said for the sleeveless exercise shirts. Performance there varies tremendously - Champion, Reebok, Acics, etc. Only recommendation is try one, if good, get more, else try another brand. Personally I found Asics to be the best across the board for this kind of exercise wear.

I run on a regular basis and find I go through compression shorts constantly. Dollar for dollar and beyond this is the best shorts on the market. I purchased a few pairs in different colors and they are serving me well. I don't get chafe or irritated from the seams . They ae really great.

These are by far the best compression shorts I have ever found for the money. They arrived within three days of my order on regular delivery. This is my second purchase from Saf-T-gard and I will definitely look here first in the future.

5.0 out of 5 stars STOP MONKEY BUTT!, August 14, 2007
This review is from: Mens Compression Short (Available in 4 Colors) (Misc.)
I take long tours on my motorcycle every summer, somewhere between 4,000 and 6,000 miles on average. This summer was a scorcher! Hundred degree temps were all over the map. If you want to put in 400+ mile days you have to deal with monkey butt. Basically the problem is that persperation gets trapped by cotton between your butt and the leather seat. This leads to skin irritation. My mother used to call it prickly heat, my coach called it jock itch, and motocycle riders fell to calling it monkey butt. These compression shorts wick the moisture away before it has the opportunity to cause the irritation. The price was also great...nearly half what other sites were charging for what seems the same product.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works for running!, October 29, 2010

I tried this product because it is much cheaper than the Under Armour equivalent. I am a runner who wants to prevent chafing of the thighs and groin. To my surprise, these actually do the job. I like that they are more lightweight than Under Armour compression shorts. These don't provide much compression, but that's not what I was looking for. I still apply Vaseline down there before every run, especially the longer runs. These work for me during hot and cold weather.

3.0 out of 5 stars Compression Shorts, August 6, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I purchased these thinking they were something different, so my review may not answer some of your concerns. I was thinking these were wick type shorts.

These are made of 100% nylon which makes them very hot to wear. They are tight as advertised but that's all. Fairly good production quality.

Don't purchase these if you are looking for shorts to wear while riding motorcycles. They are hot and do not help absorb moisture.

Hope this helps.
