5.0 out of 5 stars The Down Sweater with Something Extra...
Patagonia's Down Sweater Full-Zip Hooded Jacket is very lightweight insulation, good for external use in cool conditions, better as a layer under a parka or heaviet down jacket for really cold conditions. The jacket has a low-bulk comfortable fit with a full-length zipper, a hood, and two zippered hand pockets. Its nylon finish tends to shed snow and wind. This reviewer...

3.0 out of 5 stars Very Wide
I bought this for my husband, as he's been eyeing it for a while. He's about 6' and 200 lbs with a 34" waist and broad shoulders (just so you know for size). He wears Large for everything, but this Large is VERY wide. The sleeves are a great lenth but it fitted like a potato sack on him. I think both of us could fit in there! Needless to say we returned it and are...

5.0 out of 5 stars The Down Sweater with Something Extra..., September 24, 2010
Patagonia's Down Sweater Full-Zip Hooded Jacket is very lightweight insulation, good for external use in cool conditions, better as a layer under a parka or heaviet down jacket for really cold conditions. The jacket has a low-bulk comfortable fit with a full-length zipper, a hood, and two zippered hand pockets. Its nylon finish tends to shed snow and wind. This reviewer uses it as part of a two-layer down system in winter Alaska. It compresses easily into a stuff sack as portable extra insulation.

The Down Sweater Full-Zip Hooded Jacket is highly recommended to Patagonia fans as another quality clothing item.

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE IT!!!!, January 20, 2011
I am a girl and I loved this color so I got it in small and it fits perfect. It is so warm and so light, perfect for Oregon weather, hikes and snowshoeing. It is water resistant and I highly recommend the one with the hood. It is very worth the extra 50 bucks!

4.0 out of 5 stars Warmest lightweight jacket ever, January 20, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This jacket doesn't disappoint. Extremely warm for it's weight. With this and a long sleeve shirt underneath, I took a 1 1/2 hr walk with my dog in the rain @ 37f. Jacket stayed dry and kept me warm, so warm I had to unzip the collar and allow the heat out. The DWR held up very well as it should since it's brand new. I know this will wear off eventually, but I use Nikwax religiously on all my jackets, so I'm not worried about that.

No leaks and I'm happy to say no down got wet during my walk. Rain was between a light drizzle and a light rain. No downpour as I'm sure it would not hold up well to that.

My only complaint about this jacket is the cut as a previous review mentioned. It's cut very wide and the sleeves are short in comparison.

A medium fit my waist and torso perfect, but left me with short sleeves.

A large was way too big at the waist, but perfect on the sleeves. I kept the Large and sent the medium back without any issues. I just cinch up the bottom of the jacket and I'm good to go.

I'm really wondering who they test fit these on? I mean, I'm skinny 175lbs and 6'2" with a 35" waist, I'm used to this to a degree, but not like this. The jacket is almost a square with sleeves on it, should be a rectangle with sleeves. I don't mind the extra room, it allows me to layer underneath it if I need to stay warmer. This jacket should handle 80% of what Oregon weather throws at it. The other 20% will require a more waterproof jacket (with this as a layer).

Besides that, I really am in disbelief over how warm this jacket is, it's incredible and has earned a spot in my favorite gear list. A definite keeper.
