5.0 out of 5 stars tie clip everyone should have
I've been looking for a basic tie bar/clip for some time now. Stores these days just don't carry them unless you go to fancier ones and are prepared to spend +$50 for a piece of metal that's smaller than a pinky. For under $20 (including shipping) you can get this great looking tie clip that will be the finishing touch to your more formal attire. The clip is a lot shinier...

I've been using this for a while now. It is plain, simple, and elegant - great for what I need it for. There are only three downsides I've found:

I've been looking for a basic tie bar/clip for some time now. Stores these days just don't carry them unless you go to fancier ones and are prepared to spend +$50 for a piece of metal that's smaller than a pinky. For under $20 (including shipping) you can get this great looking tie clip that will be the finishing touch to your more formal attire. The clip is a lot shinier than what the picture looks like, so it really looks like it's sterling silver. It is 2.5 inches in length so it might be a bit long for skinny ties. Best thing is, no one will know how much you paid for it (that was my main concern). It also comes in a decent jewelery box.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great and simple, February 22, 2007
This review is from: Men's Executive Clasp Tie Bar by Enrico Pardini in your choice of colors (Apparel)
I wanted a simple, plain, handsome tie clip. It's easy to place and
grips just well enough to hold your tie in place in face of errant
tugs and pulls as well as in high winds but it doesn't clamp so
tight to mark or ruin one's more delicate ties made of materials
like silk, etc.

The silver and gold clips are both basic and normal tones that
you would want to go with everything of the like. Look them up.
Great for the price and people can't tell what you paid for the
clip--as they retain their shine. Worth the price ten fold.

I've been using this for a while now. It is plain, simple, and elegant - great for what I need it for. There are only three downsides I've found:

1) The part of the clip that actually clamps to your tie only does so in one place - as such it has a tendency to rotate on this axis point from the slightest movements of your body. I find myself having to constantly adjust it so it is horizontal.

2) The tongs of the clip are actually quite sharp. One could easily cut their ties with it - especially soft fabric ties - if they weren't careful (you could probably saw small logs with the collective serrated edge).

3) It is fairly short in length, and most of my ties are too wide for it beyond about 2 inches from the neck. This isn't a problem with the product, per se; I should have noticed the length when ordering. I am not a "tie-clip connoisseur" by any measure and as such I presumed that they were generally all the same length. Apparently not - just be forewarned.

As inexpensive as it is, this product is still a bargain, so if you aren't really bothered by the minor drawbacks or just need it for a few occasions, this one is for you.

My boyfriend asked for a plain silver tie clip for his birthday and I found this which fit the bill to a tee! He loves it and not only does it look quality, it was a great price too! I recommend to anyone looking for a simple tie clip. This gets the job done and looks classy. Can't go wrong with that!

This tie clasp is simple but not plain, elegant but not trendy, inexpensive but not cheap. It's great and functional way to bring elegance to an otherwise boring tie. I love it.

This tie bar works great. For any of my activities that i have to get dressed up for. It holds on and doesn't let go no matter what the occasion might be.

I have found it very difficult to find tip clips in stores any more as more people dress down and clips seem less popular. I saw good reviews on this clip, and I was not disappointed. It is simple but attractive. The bar is larger than most I have seen, easily covering the ties I normally wear. Also, it has a very good clip underneath that has plenty of clearance from the bar so it is not hard to slip on, a strong spring, and also teeth at the end to grip the shirt just well enough to hold. This is better than anything I have found in stores like Macy's, and cheaper to boot! Could not be a better deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lovely tie clasp!, December 21, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I was looking for a simple clasp of high quality. This one has no ripples and is shiny clean. Would be great with an engraving too. It doesn't mess up the tie after wearing, and its length is just perfect. It came in a lovely black velvet box. Was shipped super fast!

3.0 out of 5 stars Tie Bar, December 28, 2011
This review is from: Men's Executive Clasp Tie Bar by Enrico Pardini in your choice of colors (Apparel)
You get what you pay for. It looks pretty good. But it's designed for wide ties. You can't wear it with skinny ties.
The spring is too weak. So the tie bar doesn't stay in one place and it moves around. That's why I give only 3 stars.
