The 'Intercept' lace-up from Merrell is a multi-sport shoe with a sculpted low cut and molded protection. Pigskin leather and nubuck upper with a breathable padded tongue. Polyester mesh lining treated with Aegis antimicrobial lining to keep your feet healthy and odor free. 4.5mm anatomical footbed with In-Board compression-molded EVA footframe and nylon 6.6 injection-molded arch shank. Merrell Air Cushion midsole and Axis Vibram sticky rubber outsole with 4.5mm lug depth. Slip lasted construction. 15.00 oz.

These shoes are the bomb. Have been in water up to 2 inches and my feet stayed perfectly dry. I shopped for more than two weeks to find just the right shoes and I'm glad I was patient. I have no complaints about these shoes. I went with a 1/2 size bigger than my normal shoe size as other reviews suggested and the fit is great.

these shoes are great, I ordered my size and they fit perfect, I wear a 10.5 in dress shoes and 11 in gym shoes, I ordered a 10.5 and they fit perfect. they are warm and stay dry, we just got a few inches of snow and ice and walking around I feel like I'm wearing work boots

The shoes, as indicated by others, is a size smaller and narrower. There is no cushion under the heel, so after few hours you'd feel like you walked over rocks. Although these are not made for serious hiking, the shoes slip badly on wet surfaces (wet rocks, tree trunks). So do not leave the easy trail with these on. The gore-tex does provide protection from water.
