5.0 out of 5 stars Good for training and competition
I'm little bit on heavy side and these shoes provide the cushion that I need. I use this tennis to my training sessions and some medium competition 10Km and 15Km. Even it is a little heavy, it give a very nice stability during the running.

2.0 out of 5 stars Unusual Heel Design
Mizuno seems to have a good reputation for quality and innovation, so I took a chance on the Wave Creation 9. I loved the shoe - except for the heel. It is rigid and feels like plastic on the outside, and (at least when I tried them on) I felt like my heel was in a cast. Not flexible at all. So, I returned them. You may be able to "break in" the heel eventually, but...

4.0 out of 5 stars Design changes getting worse, August 13, 2008

This review is from: Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Creation 9 - Road Runner Sports (Apparel)
I've been running in the Mizuno Wave Creation for almost ten years now. I have sent Mizuno a lot of money over the years. I've stayed with the model through several improvements/iterations, because for me, once I've found a shoe that works for me, I tend to stick with it until it stops working. Also, honestly, I'd rather avoid all the trouble of finding a new "perfect" home for my feet.

Well, I think the time to re-initiate the search may have come. The latest iteration of the MWC has a looser build about it, with the insole side feeling like it's made of two separate pieces held together only with some flimsy elastic. It's just odd and feels cheap.

In any case, my next pair of running shoes may be another pair of MWCs, but it will only be after I've tried on what's available from the other manufacturers -- something I have not done in a long time.

Since I switched to Mizuno, I've had no shin splints, no blisters, and less knee and ankle pain. They are far and away the best shoes I've ever run on. The Creations are hard to find on sale, but if you can find the previous model, you might have a chance. They are worth the extra money over the Riders if you are serious runner.

It's an excellent tennis. Its deadening system and construction are very efficient. I recommend it.

This is still a good shoe, but the fit doesn't seem to be as perfect for me as the Wave Creation 8 was. The cushioning is still great though, which is especially important for a clydesdales like myself.

5.0 out of 5 stars great shoe, September 24, 2008
This review is from: Men's Mizuno Running Shoes | Mizuno Wave Creation 9 - Road Runner Sports (Apparel)
I just recently got this shoe. I had been running in Nike Pegasus shoes and was constantly getting blisters especially after long runs >8 miles. This is my first pair of Mizunos. WOW! They are so comfortable. I was afraid because they are a little higher and heavier that they might be a little clunky, but they are the smoothest shoe I have ever run in. I can whole heartedly recommend this shoe, or at least trying it out. (everyone's feet are different). The plastic plate shock absorbers, work really well and feel very responsive. I was going to get the Wave Rider 11s but they felt a little too soft, even though they were lighter. I haven't worn them long enough to discuss the durability. All in all I am really happy with this shoe.
