The mittens I received were made in China and not the USA as I believed. The leather is very soft but I worry about the durability. I previously owned a pair deer skin work gloves that were beyond tough and had the stitching not burned out would still be usable today. I do not foresee these withstanding punctures or scrapes very well.

I bought these to protect my wool mittens when snowblowing. Well, they would seem to be XXL at best, but if the leather was thicker and didn't stretch as much I don't think they would have worked for my application.

If buying the unlined gloves to use as over-mittens do not hesitate to size up. I usually wear XL or XXL gloves depending on how they fit. I have to say the XXXL were not comically over-sized when I wore them without the mittens underneath.

I have bought deerskin mittens for many years, but these mittens are nothing like my old ones. The leather seems thinner and the pattern used is much different. The mittens are long and thin in shape. The thumb is tight and set too low. The thumb positioning causes the entire mitten to twist on my hands-very annoying.

Paid $24 dollars for these things. The construction is cheap, the look is cheap, the materials are cheap, the leather is far too thin. I will use them, but looking for a replacement soon.

These run a little small (perhaps because they're made in China??). I normally wear a "large" mitten, but had to switch to XL.

They were smart to keep as much of the stitching as possible away from the main (palm / finger) surfaces that you use, there is only one small bit of stitching in the crook of the thumb that could rip before the deerskin wore through, but there's no way around that. I expect these to last for many years.

I bought an UNLINED pair of these choppers size XXL (2XL) chopper mittens and they fit perfectly around a medium sized pair of Fox River Men's Extra Heavy Double Ragg Mitten wool liners that I can remove to dry both layers out faster when they get wet. (The lined version of these choppers provides very little insulation and is really just a protection between your skin and the rough leather. -I chose the unlined version so that I could pull out the separate wool mitten to dry faster.)

This produces a great, warm, tough (the chopper mittens have the smallest amount of seams possible, and none on the palm/fingers parts that you use), and breathable mitten for working outdoors in the cold. They're a little bulky, but I can still chop wood, shovel, and work a snow blower just fine (it's just a little tricky trying to start a zipper or something).

I'd upload a picture if either vendor allowed me to.

Nice comfortable mittens, soft deer skin... definitely get a bigger size... only had them two weeks so can't say for durability ...

I ordered mens 3XL leather mittens for my husband. He has normal size hands and wanted mittens to pull over his gloves when he plows snow. We received the size 3XL mittens and they are very small. My husband could barely get ihis hands in them without gloves. I just inherited them and I wear a womens small glove so I the mittens just fit over my gloves.

I usually like choppers with wool/silk inserts, but these do just as good a job. The deerskin is soft and pliable, and these are thinner than the ones with inserts, so they make it easier to pic things up and for driving.

I have ridden my bike in freezing winter weather and my hand stayed warm. These mittens have stood up to yard work and machine washing them.
