I purchased this set when Amazon had it as a lightning deal and I am pleased with the purchase because it serves its purpose - a Christmas present to a co-worker I hardly know but to whom I must give a gift - it's one of those 'Secret Santa' arrangements. I know, we are just playing a game and this can serve as one of the items we use to play it - I wish 'wine' was allowed but our rules prohibit tobacco or alcohol.

The looks:
They are quite impressive, for the price. The set comes in a surprisingly large, well made, faux-leather case which makes it look more expensive and classy than it really is. The individual components look 'serious', polished and well-made. The cheap plastic transparency that covers the assemblage and keeps everything in place subtracts from the good looks. The discrete 'Made in China' label on the back of the box can be easily removed.

Usefulness:
It's not very high. In the end, the items likely to be used are the key ring and the book light. I can't see any grownup actually wearing a cheap-looking watch but it might be given to a pre-teen kid who's still learning time-telling and Roman numerals. Same for the wallet - probably good for a teen or a pre-teen. The book light shows some potential. The key chain is just that and it could easily find a use. The box, because of its size and faux-leather finish may actually find more use than most of the individual items in the box. It is possible that the recipient of this set might keep it and give it away as a present next time he must give a 'surprise' gift to someone he doesn't know.

Quality:
The individual components appear to fall within the class of items you would normally find in stores where shoppers are shopping mainly for bargains and quality does not matter much.

Overall:
I will award this set 3 stars (slightly above average) mainly for the looks and for the size of the box. I would not be disappointed if a stranger who 'had' to offer me a present offered me this.

This is a VERY nice set. Even the box itself is heavy and nice enough to place out as a toss all for change and pocket items when you come home.

Oh Dear. Everything is bad except the box. If this goes down to $2 with free shipping get it; just toss the contents in the garbage and enjoy the cool box.
