Great CD to listen to while you are TDY,
By A Customer

I bought this CD, while I was TDY in Germany. It was great. It really helped the time pass, while I was sitting in my hotel room at Grafenwohr Army Base and watched the rain pour down. Sure wish I were back in Tucson.

Herbert du alte knacker!!!,

I'm american living here in Germany, so I've had quite a bit of time hearing this song on the radio. It's been number one here for weeks. I couldn't have cared less about Herbert's troubles, his 4 year hiatus, or most German language music for that matter previously. So along comes this title from the man, I hear it and find it catchy, still can't get past his dialect however. One day I hear it and catch the key of his dialect and unlock the song for my understanding and was/am blown away by this celebration of the triumph of the human spirit despite great loss. I nominate this as the song of the new millenium. This title could save lives (if it hasn't already). It sounds cheesey but you could almost picture someone on the brink of suicide finding strength here, I've been there a couple of times earlier on in life and know how much something like this could mean. I actually went and bought the album on the strength of this song alone, ... If you like German language titles pick this up.

Gronemeyer's Great!,

I own this album, not the cd single, bought it in Holland at his concert, and haven't had any trouble playing it on any of my cd players, even though some of them are very old. Perhaps the single is different? I love Mensch, even though I don't speak German, so if anyone can translate it for me, send me an email. :)

i live in germany and i speek pretty good german for the short time that ive been their, and when i first heard this song i though, wow, interesting... but then i got to listening to the lyrics and this is really an in deapth song. es ist ok. alles aus dem weg. also, its ok. everythings out of the way. Und weil er lacht,Weil er lebt,Du fehlst. because u laugh, because you live, you are missing. think about it and it will touch u. buy the album or download it. P.S. i dont particularly like the music vidoe. its sort of corny(a person in a polar bear costume walking around) but it fits the attitude of the song.

Bad, bad experience with copy protection!,
This review is from: Mensch (Audio CD)
This is good music but it does not play on most of my CD Players (both on US players and German players). My PC finally accepted the CD and I had the pleasure to listen to the songs which are nice. However, if Herbert Groenemeyer really thinks that it's a good idea to implement a copy protection on his CDs in the first place, I recommend something which works! I know that many people had to return the CD because of this problem. Very bad user experience for somebody who was stupid enough to pay for his music.
