One of the Best Science Fiction Comedies of All Time, October 1, 2007
This review is from: Mention My Name in Atlantis (Paperback)
John Jakes took a break from his usual style to write one of the funniest science fiction novels of all time. A riveting and hilarious perspective about what REALLY befell ancient Atlantis back in the day.
The story is told from the point of view of Hopter the Vinter who disguises his prostitution pedalling with his wine business and relates the fateful ending days of the Kingdom of Atlantis.
Many situations abound the novel with aliens, a corrupt monarchy, and a whiney prostitute whom Hopter has promised to marry. Hopter is owed many favors from the citizens of Atlantis and may just have to collect to save his head while everything else unravels around him.
You will not be disappointed if you pick up this novel, it is funny, well-written and the characters will surely put a grin on your face.
