This album is very complete musically and goes into a whole host of subject matters. Pobre Cristina is an excellent song, illustrating the fact that money does not necessarily bring happiness, especially in this case (Cristina Onassis who died prematurely and unhappy). It is lyrically satirical which is a Sabina trademark. In "Con un par" Sabina delves into Salsa music and shows his eclectic side musically as well as "Con la frente marchita" getting into Argentinian music." Corre dijo la tortuga" is an excellent song, standing out as one of the album's best. I also liked, but it's my own personal taste, "A ti que te lo haces", having a very nice melodic, instrumental sound accompanied with Joaquin's great voice and expressing himself in the most outrageous, humorous manner imaginable, reminding us that this is Post-Franco Spain, down with censorship and hello to free expression! Another great song, "Mentiras Piadosas" spoke volumes to me about the problems posed with being too honest, a very insightful and brillantly written song. All in all this album is great and a must have for aficionados of contemporary Spanish music.

Joaquin Sabina is the greatest Troubadour in the western world - a poet more than a songwriter. In my opinion, this album is his masterpiece. The music is good, but the verse hardly needs any music:

"... I, who never had any religion other than a woman's body ..."

Sabina lives according to his urges, and writes from his life, and what results is somthing between philosophy and literature.

Someone with greater literary skills than mine should someday tranlate his lyrics. Till then, learn Spanish so you can experience Sabina.

Este disco es simple y sencillamente maravilloso. No me canso de escucharlo, asi como de citarlo entre los amigos... y los que no lo son. Voy a decirlo en pocas palabras: si tienes una coleccion de rock en espanol, y no tienes este disco, entonces no tienes coleccion que valga la pena, porque te falta EL disco... Joaquin Sabina es Dios!!
