Karen Daniels has a degree in behavioral psychology from Reed College and has done graduate work in entomology. Her careers this lifetime range from exotic animal trainer to entomology researcher. Now a full time writer and avid explorer, she believes Greenland's stark beauty is incomarable and East Africa gets into your blood, but there is no greater itinerary than traveling the human soul. Karen brings her spiritual knowledge, along with her love of animals, to the characters in The Zaddack Tales series.

Karen Daniels is unconventional. She had her first child at age 46, and at 52 went back to school for her M.A. in Educational Psychology (while wrangling 3 under age-4 kids.) Her friends consider her renegade, spiritual, and a bit odd.

A content specialist, her versatile writing skills have led to publication in everything from online to offline, social media, blogs, curriculum, scientific journals, poetry, fiction and nonfiction books.

"Mentor's Lair" is the middle book in the Zaddack trilogy. The first book ended with the heroine, Serall, forced to flee her home planet.
A rag-tag band of survivors, including humans, Riathans, and a Bioguard (one of Serall's relentless pursuers) must land their space vessel on a cold, forebidding planet in an attempt to forage food and water.
The planet holds two big surprises - a series of "earth"quakes which release irresistible sexual energy, and - the presence of a being, Mentor, older than time, who may be friend, or foe!
As previously, the author handles dialogue and action scenes equally well. Because of the sexual energy subplot, this book is definitely more adult oriented than the first.
An exciting read which leaves you anticipating the final volume, "Mindspark", due out this spring.
