4.0 out of 5 stars Good But Really Expensive, August 11, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mentos Sugar Free Mixed Berry Candy, 1.12-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 24) (Grocery)
I anxiously awaited these & when Amazon offered them, I grabbed them without really thinking just how much I was paying for them.

First, they are good, not great, but good. The mint flavor tastes a lot like sugared Mentos, these not so much.

They have a good texture and the flavors are okay, but there is a slightly strange taste to them and a weirdly greasy mouthfeel, which makes no sense, I know, because there isn't any fat in them.

At almost $2.00 per box, I would advise waiting for a sale.

Also, despite the Splenda logo on the front, the primary ingredient in this candy is maltilol, so you'll still have gastro problems with these if you are sensitive.

I've noticed this sneakiness in a lot of major brands of sugarfree candy. The Splenda logo is there to sell the candy, but it's always the very last ingredient, which can mean that they put 1/100th of a gram of it in there just to get the name on it. Very deceptive.

4.0 out of 5 stars Tastes great, but major gastro problems if you eat more than 1 pack, January 19, 2010

Tastes great, but major gastro problems if you eat more than 1 pack. I'm not exaggerating.

I eat a lot of sugar free candy that can create gastro issues. But these are by far the worst of all. 2 packs and you won't sleep at night.

With that said, they taste great. Holding yourself to 1 pack is going to be the issue.

I love sugar free mentos, problem is they are not sold in stores anymore...I was very happy to find them here at Amazon.com and at a great price. You order them and in 2-3 days they are on your door step. Great item, Great website. Thank you Amazon.
