5.0 out of 5 stars A method of self-assessment for how you lead you life..., January 22, 2002
This review is from: Menus for Impulsive Living (Hardcover)
The basic premise of this book is that impulses are messages from the higher self to guide us in the direction of the most fulfilling life possible. And that most children are trained, at least in part, to ignore their impulses. So by the time we get to adulthood we are more or less out of touch with what our true impulses are--and leading lives that are, to some extent or another, out of balance. So the theory behind the book is to provide a "remedial" structure or method to get you back on the track of leading a reasonably balanced life so that you can become clear enough to recognize what your true impulses are. Then of course the idea is to act appropriately on them. Sounds simple right?

Well for me, while I can't say that I've totally mastered the process, the book has provided a powerful method for increasing my energy level--and in addition I feel more centered. Also I feel that from using the information that it has contributed to my making real progress in both refining and achieving my life goals. In short I recommend this book highly for those who are truly interested in making positive changes in their life. After all, life is all about growth--and growth implies change.

4.0 out of 5 stars Menus for Impulsive Living, January 22, 2002
This review is from: Menus for Impulsive Living (Hardcover)
I read this book many years ago. Just recently I have picked it up and have been applying the principles in it. I believe that they are true and am starting to see that being conscious of them can lead to a more fulfilled life.

5.0 out of 5 stars Heped me remove road blocks in my life, January 23, 2002
This review is from: Menus for Impulsive Living (Hardcover)
I read this book when I was in graduate school 13 years ago and it gave me an outlook on my life (and how I was living it) that I had not considered before. It helped me recognize that when I did 'impulsive' things, I achieved goals; and when I did 'compulsive' things, I sabotaged those goals. After unpacking this book during a recent move, I re-read it and it holds as much meaning for me now as before; only now, with several more years under my belt, I understand even more clearly the message that Leland delivers. I am thrilled to see that Leland has finally published another book and it is at the top of my reading list.
