Book Description

December 25, 2004 Buyer's Guide
This book gives an up-close look at Mercedes-Benz roadsters, convertibles, and two-and four-seat coupes from the mid-1950s to present. With roadsters, starting with the 300SL's from the mid-1950 and continuing through the current SLK's - up to the 2003 model year. Coupes and Cabrios, this book details the 220SEb/300SE cars of 1960 and continues on up to the current CLK's to the 2003 model year. This approach better serves those who are in the market for "personal cars" by not spreading the book too thin to cover the entire Mercedes-Benz lineup. Explore all the traditional elements of the Buyer's Guide series, such as the basic histories of each model or model type, Garage Watch photos with inset photo callouts, tables of common replacement parts, quotes from contemporary magazine reviews, owner testimonials, rating charts, and specification tables.

Roadsters Coupes and Convertibles have been the style arm of Mercedes Benz for many years, this book covers cars made since the 50s, and each car is an expression of Mercedes Reliability and personal style.

It doesn't matter if you are in the market for a classic or a more recent car, this book covers all the sports models with an eye towards the details. Which years are the best? What options are available, and how can you spot them?

This book may be best for someone who wants a Mercedes sports car, but isn't sure which one is best for them. Browse around and figure out which one you want. If you shop the want ads, this book is indispensable with the many photos, and detailed captions.

It's also a great dreaming book. Think you may want a 450SL some day? With this book, you can decide exactly which one is your dream car. It can be any color you want, and it won't leak oil! Plus the book is very inexpensive - a great value.

If you want to buy a Mercedes roadster this is your first reading. Perhaps it is not the ideal book to know in detail each model described, but it is a pleasant reading rich of tips and hints. Worth the buy.

The book contains useful information on the SL, SLC, CE, SEC, CLK, SLK and other Mercedes Benz sport coupes and roadsters build from the 1955 190SL to the 2003 SLK. True to the title of the book this info will be of interest to anyone wanting to buy one of these classics. Technical specifications, common parts lists and common problems experienced with each of these models are listed in a fair amount of detail. I also liked the abundance of unique color pictures which include pictures of where to find VIN numbers and look for rust. The book is a unique blend between a coffee-table display book and a reference guide for potential buyers.
