2.0 out of 5 stars Useless, April 8, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Mercedes-Benz: Silver Star Century (Hardcover)
I bought this book to learn more about the vintage Mercedes cars that are out there, as I am considering the purchase of one. Not only is the writing boring and the pictures blurry and faded, the author has also decided to skip some of the most important models manufactured by Mercedes over the years. Where is the w123, for example?

After the beautiful Vespa book I bought, this volume just doesn't do it for me. Save your money and buy a Mercedes book with great reviews.

Mercedes-Benz: Silver Star Century"Mercedes-Benz: Silver Star Century" is a wonderful book covering a century in the history of the Mercedes-Benz company. This 192-page, hardcover book contains numerous, high-quality photographs, many of them in full color, of Mercedes-Benz automobiles from the very first models. It is a must-have book for all enthusiasts of these fine, world-class automobiles.

3.0 out of 5 stars A Mercedes coffee table book., July 21, 2011
By
James J. Meredith (Birmingham, AL USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Mercedes-Benz: Silver Star Century (Hardcover)
Mercedes-Benz Silver Star Century gives a general overview of the history of these cars and the company. The book is logically laid out and is well illustrated, but many of the photos we have seen before in other Dennis Adler books. There is little depth to the text and many common models are omitted completely. In a series of almost identical Denis Adler Mercedes books this is probably the best there is but... It makes a fine coffee table book.
