Pure Metal...,
This review is from: Merciless (Audio CD)
This sounds like it could have been released in 1985! So, Aura Noir hasn't really changed much since their inception, but then again, when you play retro thrash and pay tribute to your idols, how much room for progression can there really be? Doesn't really matter, though, for these guys seem to be having lots of fan playing this style of music. Plus, the music isn't bad at all. Do you like loud guitars with riffs you'd swear you have heard on a Destruction or Kreator '80s record, along with precise drumming that follows a simple 4/4 formula, with the occasional well-placed roll, and throaty vocals that demand your attention as hymns about Metal and Satan are shouted? Not tomention this is seriously 100% head banging. So get the beers out, play this record loud and forget about everything else. Metal rules, indeed.

A Must Own...,
By Six "Angry Strings" (Hell Centro, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Merciless (Audio CD)
This phrase is thrown out there quite a bit with albums, and has become about as cliche' as has most neo-thrash bands these days... but with this disc, it's heartfelt. When I was a reviewer for a pretty big Metal website I received this album for free for review... I think it was the best freebee I got... threw it on and rocked the "F" out!!! Screw the new wave of thrash, all poseurs I say ... but labels suck, and METAL is METAL... it's too bad that this neo-thrash wave is hitting us Metal lovers in the face right now and it makes me want to vomit and I wish that all thrash was a little "Blackened" from the get-go and maybe we'd have a hell of a lot more good metal to listen to... SKELETON WITCH though, while I'm thinking about it, got the right idea, but honestly, this is an absolute MUST OWN for ANY Metalhead out there. A definite unheard classic.
