Although it doesn't say 100% whey, I still think its deceiving that it contains plain old milk (non-fat dry). For those of us who don't tolerate casein you'll have to discover that for yourself or just read my review. It has a nice creamy flavor. I tried some out of curiosity but will be looking for something that does not contain casein.

For me the taste of this just did not meet expectations. I'm a huge fan & reader of Dr. Mercola's and was excited to get his protein here on Amazon. Just got it in today and tasted a sample dry. Tasted good but oddly familiar. Turns out it reminded me of powdered milk I had as a teen and in the military - just as one reviewer posted above.I mixed in a shaker with cold water and could not drink it. The first swig had unmixed crystals, which when crushed/dissolved in my mouth left a very bland taste - similar to unflavored BCAA powders. One more swig after adding another scoop to be sure and I definitely will not drink this. If mixed with milk it might taste very good, but I'm avoiding lactose where possible, so that's out. Bottom line - I'm sticking with the WHEY Isolates or other brands that mix very well with water or other drinks and taste good (ON Hydro Whey Vanilla is the best I've found so far). Still a fan of the doc, but not of this product.

Love the Chocolate,

I received the chocolate flavor and to me it tastes just like chocolate milk. I put the powder and milk in a blender and it's smooth and creamy and not too thick. I have never had a good protein shake in a shaker cup so I use my blender. It is only 11 servings but I've researched and looked for other less expensive options and anything comparable is just as expensive. It's whey from grass-fed cows, non-GMO, naturally sweetened, a whey concentrate not a protein isolate and no soy. It has maltodextrin which is derived from corn but that's a pretty common and natural ingredient. I've tried to find anywhere on Dr. Mercola's website where he might say that powdered milk is bad as another reviewer suggested. The only thing I can find is that pasteurized milk is bad and according to his product description, this whey and milk is raw, un-pasteurized. I've tried a lot of protein powders and this one is by far the best tasting.

Best Protein Powder!,
This review is from: Mercola Miracle Whey Vanilla Protein Powder (Health and Beauty)
I would recommend this to anyone commited to a whole food diet. I love knowing that I'm drinking a totally healthy protien shake without ANY additives that compromise true health! My kids and I have a protein smoothie several mornings a week. We usually combine peanut butter, banana, raw milk, Miracle Whey Vanilla Protein Powder (I only use one scoop since the peanut butter and milk add protein), and, if the banana was fresh instead of frozen, a few ice cubes. Tastes like a milk shake! We also use fruit, ice cubes, protein powder and raw milk...also delicious! Totally worth every penny!

Good product, only complaint is the size,

I'm a big fan of Dr. Mercola's health knowledge and such, and I was in the market for a good whey protein because most are loaded with Sucralose, of which I'm allergic. I'm used to terrible tasting protein drinks and juicing things like beets, so to me, the taste is pretty good. If you're not used to protein shakes and drinks then you may be in for a little surprise, but they are an acquired taste. I don't have any complaints about the product per se, except for the fact that you don't get much for the money. I understand the quality of the product, I really do, but I find myself not drinking my shakes as much as I'd like because I don't want to spend more money so quickly. I'm not as cheap as I am broke, but care about my health. To break it down: Good quality product, good quality ingredients, only 11 or so servings per container, kind of expensive considering the the amount you get.

Too Sweet.,

I do not like sweet protein or green drinks. They are supposed to be healthy and we should be living with less sweet not more. We are stuffed with 'sugary" even when it is not cane sugar. I can hardly finish the can. I would guess all flavors are sweet. Chocolate certainly is. UGH. |
