This is Ellen Robinson's 2nd CD & while her first (On My Way To You) was definitely classy, it was a studio album. On MERCY! all the performances are live and the energy level more than doubles.
Ms. Robinson's flawless delivery and beautiful timing are all the more evident in the spontaneous interplay with her excellent bandmates. Her joy in performing is infectious; her ability to go from effortless swing to hushed intensity is amazing. & the
3 tunes she wrote- all quirky rhythms & catchy melodies- are like the lady herself: upbeat & always in motion...
