I have 5 dogs and 7 cats! Have used Frontline products for about 10 years. It seems most of the animal hospitals are selling only the Tritak now that Frontline can be bought at reatil outlets.

I have used Tritak effectively on all my cats and dogs.

I too thought I had a problem with the product. I had applied Tritak to my 3 outside cats ,the next day I found 4 live ticks on one of them! That afternoon I called the manufacture Merial and got educated on how it works and how to use. It can take several hours to start killing fleas and ticks. Which I would think is due to the time involved for the product to spread over the animals body through a process called translocation. When applied, this product is quickly dispersed onto the animals skin, collecting in the oil glands in the skin. It is then "wicked" onto the hair over the next 30 days, killing fleas as they come into contact. Also if you have multiple pets you need to treat all of them. Since then I have found ticks on the outside cats that were not attached and were DEAD!

The fleas you see most likely started as flea eggs that were deposited in the environment before you began using Tritak

If the environment is infested ( house interior or yard) then you will continue to see fleas on your pet that have not yet died. It night be wise to treat your yard if you have a heavy infestation.

I have 4 dogs and 2 cats. My vet recommended Tritak. I spent the $120 and followed the instructions. I also treated the house as my vet instructed. I was happy to see the house without fleas. I monitored the animals. 1 hour, 3 hours, 8, 24. 2 days, 4, 1 week. Never any dead fleas, only live ones that progressively got worse.

I applied the product to both of my cats and one of them (who is very sensitive to flea bites) has absolutely no hair in the spot the frontline was applied! Will be calling the vet and may not use this on him again. Can't seem to tell after 3 days is its had any effect on scratching/fleas or not...

I used Frontline for a long time. I had the one box of the regular and two of the new Tritak. I put the old Frontline on three of my outdoor cats and the new Tritak garbage on three my Indoor cats. My indoor cats had fleas a week later and my Siamese hada bad reaction and had to get a relief shot. We found large fleas on her at the vets office. She also had hair loss on her tummy and inside her back legs. This was not the same vet that sold me the Tritak. She said next time come to her. I am sure the vets are knowing of this problem. I am using Frontline Spray at the moment. Plus, I myself was pretty bit up. I am sending the remaining box back to my other vet who sold it to me. It is not worth the money plus it will make you spend more more for your pets suffering. On to look for a natural product that works. I will only use Virbac's "Knockout E.S." for area treatments. They best way to get rid of fleas is getting rid of them in the home. Lavender oil is great too for your bedding and your pets.

I have used frontline plus for years and the only time I ever had a flea problem was when I was a week late applying to my cats. I recently read that some fleas are becoming resistant to frontline, so when my vet recommended Tritak I didn't even think twice about it... I REALLY wish I had. I got a new cat about 3 months ago (I have a dog and one other cat) and immediately giving her the new frontline. Now we all have fleas (except for the dog who is on frontline plus!!!!) I gave all the animals capstar, bombed the whole house, washed everything that can be washed in hot water and put flea powder on all the carpets... guess what?? 1 week later an I just pulled 2 LIVE FLEAS off the cat!!!!

We have used this product for two months in a row, as well as treating our house. Spent $200. The problem is worse than ever! Still finding fleas on our cats, they are constantly biting and scratching, to the point where they are starting to get sores on them. Will try a different product when the 30 days are up.

I've used Frontline products last year and noticed that the fleas were becoming immune to the product so I stopped using it. Now, flea season is back and my cats and I need help battling the flea problem. I decided to give this product a try and have read mixed reviews about it. I followed the directions when applying it to my cats and they've still had flea issues but not nearly as bad as it was last month. I plan on purchasing this product from now.

My understanding is that Tritak was/is the best stuff out there at the moment.

I put it between the shoulder blades of each of my cats without any argument or protest from them.

It worked through the spring and summer months as advertised.

As autumn is around the corner, a reapplication is now in order (rhyming is totally unintentional...)

You'll hear no complaints from me.
