I couldn't be more pleased with this thing - the comb design reduces resistance so much, every shave is far easier than with the usual bar. I've read some people think the 15c is too mild; yes, I'd agree it's mild, but what blades you're using come into this also, I'm using Israeli Personnas, which give me good cut but don't slice me open. The Merkur blade that's included is very good, but maybe a bit too much unless you're used to them. As well, I have a tendency to be kind of heavy handed when I shave, partly because I'm tough shaving, and also because I have large hands; the mildness of this shaver allows for this, and it's simply a joy to use. I use it on both my face and my head; I intend to grow my beard back soon, and then it'll be just as valuable for keeping the "tops" of my beard to a perfect line with my always shaved head - you can see the blade, and this allows great precision (works between my eyebrows too, I can trim or "shape" to a single hair). Blade alignment is PERFECT, so no worry there, just drop it on, and tighten up the handle. This thing is incredibly well made, the balance is wonderful, and the head feels exact and capable. It's not very heavy, average weight (about the same as my '57 Super Speed), which is fine - if you want a really heavy one, Merkur makes those too. I do agree with the advice of most retailers of this shaver - if you're new to DE shaving, you may want the usual bar design first, but once you've had some practice, this comb design has absolutely super performance.

This is a terrific razor to begin leaving the world of multi blades behind. (I would recommend doing a google search for "classic shaving" to find this product cheaper, as well as a wealth of knowledge related to shaving with a double edge razor). I tried this razor for the first time today - and with some extra time and care, I got a perfect shave. I know that speed will come with time, but who cares how fast you can shave? Your face is at stake! I have less razor bumps and a closer shave with this razor than with my mach 3. Also, the blades couldn't be any cheaper to purchase. Believe me, the BIG razor companies are duping the public into believing that a fast shave with tons of blades is the way to shave - but really, how many blades does it take to cut a hair? The Merkur blade that came with this razor is easily the sharpest blade I've ever shaved with. GET this razor and let's start to boycott the idiotic multi blade market.
