A Gem.,

This review is from: Merlin's Godson (Mass Market Paperback)
Having read this book in the early '80s, I am amazed at how many of its passages have stayed with me. This novel along with the earlier Merlin's Ring by the same author are an intriquing and completely unique telling of the Arthurian legend. In fact, other than some familiar characters, this tale covers completely new ground and opens the readers mind to a vast array of new ideas.Munn has truly crafted a story of whim and fantasy that is quite unlike anything I have read before or since. And I enjoyed the journey.

A Great Book, both historically sound and a great read,

This review is from: Merlin's Godson (Mass Market Paperback)
This book offers a different view on the entire Arthurian saga. It takes in a vast spectrum of concepts, from Merlin, the great Wizard, to the last reminants of Rome, to The New World, and Beyond, to Atlantis, 10,000 years gone, and its wonders. Altogether a great read, It suffices all genres of readers as only a good historic fiction can. And then it brings up the enevitable question... How much is fiction?????????

Across the Seas of Darkness.Camelot was gone and Arthur lay in the sleep of the forever undead. Only a small band of loyal men were left, guided by the magical wisdom of Merlin. United, they braved uncharted seas toward the mysterious Lands of the West. With them they carried the Thirteen Magic Treasures of Britian and the power of Merlin's Ring. Ahead of them lay unknown lands that offered lush wonders and ecstasies beyond their dreams and savage creatures that drove them into horrors beyond any nighmare. For Ventidius Varro, a Roman centurion who had given his service to Arthur, this was to be an odyssey of soul-stirring glory and heartbreaking discovery...an an odyessy that would bring him the love of a beautiful woman and take from him his son Gwalchmai. And before Gwalchmai, godson of Merlin, lay an even darker and more mysterious quest. |
