When I saw this anime I was blown away,the story was wonderful, the art is very good (concidering it's age of corse) Overall I love this anime, I must have rented it over 7 times before I bought it. I wouldnt recomend this anime for any of the weak of heart though. It had a very high gore factor, (not as bad as Ninga Scroll) My only complaint is the voice of Mana, I think that Yuta did a very admirable job and so did Misa, but Mana... Well it makes up for the bad acting with the wonderful story. a must buy.

This is not supposed to be scary just dark and mystifying. This story is graphically violent. I wouldn't recommend to overtly sensitive people.

This is one of Rumiko Takahashi's great works. It's about two teenagers(Mana and Yuta) who are not quite what they seem to be. They have consumed the Mermaid's Flesh, an ancient poison that can kill the one who eats it, or damn them to eternal life. They will never age, and never die, not from any injury. Only when their heads are cut off may its victims find peace. But in the small town near the seashore, rumors are going around. About a woman, who was in a fatal boating accident, and simply walked away unharmed. Is there another who survived the curse of the Mermaid's flesh? This one's pretty macabre.

I liked this anime, I saw it a couple years ago, when I was like 12 and it really freaked me out, but now that I see it again I really like it! It's really cool, at times it's kinda freaky and I don't recomend it for anyone under 12 or 13 because the monsters will scare little kids. [When I saw it the first time when I was younger it gave me nightmares] At the time I didn't know it was by Rumiko, one of my favorite Manga Artists, and I still liked it! Check it out!

I loved this anime movie, it was one of the best I've seen. I was on the edge of my chair the entire time. Masao was the least likely of the suspects. Mana was my favorite character!

This has -got- to be the best anime based on a Rumiko Takahashi book ever.Starting out as a quiet and tranquil movie,it soon sets out more dramatic that you'd ever imagine,and the true culprit isn't exactly easily unmasked.

Yuta and his "sister" Mona arrive at a small village,and try to adapt to a new life.But it's not easy with the kind of secret they share... And they find they're not the only ones with a long and ugly past behind them.

This movie was great. It had a plot that you could not predict. Although it had some sad moments in it. I think your fell sorry for the little boy in this to once you see it. I'll say nothing else or I will give it away. Buy this you will not be sorry.

One of the best animes I have seen as far as story goes

Mermaids scar is a really cool anime. It is actually one of my favorites. It has a really elaborate plot. And great characters. On the tape it say it is a macabre thriller... and they arent lying. The story is so interesting that you wish that they had made more than just 2 videos about the characters in the anime.
