I bought these for a Europe tour where walking 5-10 miles each day is normal and I'm sure they'll perform as expected.

Especially like the toe protector Merrill uses that adds rigidity.

I bought the mix master tiffs for backpacking / hiking and used it last weekend on a 23 mile backpack. Shoes were light and comfortable over some quite rocky terrain. I was initially concerned that they might be too lightweight but they held up well and I had a good experience with them which I am hoping will continue on additional trips. I ran in them 2 times before trip to break but they are really very comfortable and do not seem to require much breaking in. Very happy so far.

I absolutely love these shoes. I actually use these shoes for work. I work in a hospital and am on my feet anywhere from 5-10 hours a day depending on how hectic it is. I used to wear training shoes but have switched to these merrells and will not go back to training shoes. The first time I placed my feet into these shoes I felt like I was walking on clouds.

The entire shoe fit's well, you don't hardly feel the shoe on your foot! Very light, well made and nice looking!

Light weight, fit well, good looking and fair priced. Especially like the toe protector Merrill uses that adds rigidity. Thanks

These shoes are very comfortable but only last about 6 months before the inside heal material shreds and the sole nubs wear down completely and I'm not even a runner, I just walk about 5 miles a week on soft trails.

I've owned at least ten pairs of Merrells over the last ten years so I'm obviously a fan who wouldn't write a one star review unless they deserved it. Generally these are great super lightweight minimal trail runners but Merrell's design team introduced an unforgivable flaw choosing fashion/style over function.
I've only put 50 trail miles (admittedly on quite rough terrain) on these and the toe guards are already blowing out because they cut little lightning bolt slits in them that couldn't possibly be anything but cosmetic. Look at the image closely and you'll see three cuts on each side of the black rubber toe guard.
The cuts aren't big enough to provide any effective ventilation and they're too high to contribute to drainage after a stream crossing but they are perfect for catching on rocks and snagging on shrubs that encroach on the trail. When they catch they rip.
The shoes are obviously too worn to return so I suppose I'll put another hundred miles on them and toss them when I can start to see my toes.
I have the Merrell Sonic Glove minimal shoes that use a nearly identical black rubber toe guard except they don't have the slits. I've put several hundred miles on them without any tears or damage to the guards.
Whoever the idiot was who decided it would be a good idea to pre-damage the scuff guards should be fired.

Don't think I'll ever buy another sports type shoe other than Merrell. Have had two pairs (Phoenix Model) which I switch off and on every other day for the past eighteen months. They really have helped with foot nerve condition. Thanks

Great shoe! Minimal in terms of cushioning but tough exterior took me through rocky trails and ledges to the top of Half Dome and off trail scramble to base of Upper Yosemite Falls. Then hiked through 6" deep snow in Kings Canyon. Definitely not waterproof but shed water well enough to maintain warm feet with wool socks.

Fits true in length. On the wider side, so not great cut for narrow feet, especially in the heel.
