No, they look great and fit perfect and that's the important part for me .
The third pair (Merrell Moab) fit perfect, feel great, and look sharp.
This is my third pair of Merrell shoes, and second pair of Moab XCRs and I couldn't be happier with them.

I'm very happy with these shoes. They keep my feet dry during walks through wet snow and slush. I bought them for early morning walks when the grasss is wet with dew and I think they will work great. I bought them in 12 wide and these shoes are actually wide enough for me to wear a thick pair of socks. Haven't had them long enough to rate the wear of the sole, but so far, so good.

I purchase this shoe originally because I work outside in all kinds of weather conditions. I have tried many other waterproof shoes and weatherproof boots, usually the ones that were the most watertight were the ones that were big and clunky and uncomfortable. I have been looking for a while and stumbled across this pair of Gore-tex shoes. I ordered a pair and wore them the next day pushing carts in pouring rain. I worked outside for about 8 hours that day, and my feet stayed completely dry and even better, they were very comfortable all day too! I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone for just about any type of use involving walking and different weather conditions.

Owned for 8 months. Wore these shoes exclusively to walk 800 km across Spain this summer to do the Camino to Santiago. I also wore them for 3 months (95% of the time) in Italy where I would walk daily through the woods, up mountains, and in the rain. Waterproof as advertised, feet never got hot or cold. In Spain there is dirt \ dust everywhere but the cloth on the outside still looks great. I've walked in snow, streams, desert, dirt, mud, cow poop, dog poop, crushed snails, the tread and bottom of these shoes look brand new.

The only concerns I have was that it took 1 month to break in the shoe (full time daily wearing). The gore-tex makes the middle of the shoe tight when you walk, as if there was a crease \ fold that pinches a bit. I re-laced a few times (would stop it for a few days), after a month it was not a problem.

Also the back of the heel (on the inside) has completely worn out and some of the padding is pulling out, however I can't blame the shoe as I always pull up on the backstrap and shove my feet in instead of retying my shoes everyday. That's my fault.

Otherwise, great shoe. Definitely sticking to only Merrells (buying a pair of their leather dress shoes) and Vibram products, might even buy this exact shoe again (in Grey next time).

When I purchased these shoes I thought they were great. I ordered them with the intention of using them while running my landscaping business and was happy with the purchase at first. The fit was good, I didn't really have to break them in or anything and they kept my feet dry and cool. It's been about 2 months now wearing the shoes on average 4 times a week and the uppers are separating from the soles. A huge disappointment after paying more for the model with Gortex for added cooling and water protection. I think I could buy junk shoes for $30 every two months instead of the $130 I paid for these and come out way ahead.

I've loved every pair of Merrell Moab's i've owned (and i think this makes 5 pair so far!) They fit my feet like a glove and are all-day comfortable. Great for lite hiking and general day-to-day use.

I bought these because of the Gore-Tex, and the color is nice too. However, i was sort of expecting all the benefits of the traditional Moabs but with a "waterproof" trait. I'm not sure where the Gore-Tex part of the construction lies, since just like the regular Moab Ventilators, the uppers on these are mesh. Unfortunately, with these mesh uppers, any splash or rain at all goes right through to the tops of the toes. So, Gore-text or not, they're not much drier than any other Moab version.

So, am i disappointed in them? No, they look great and fit perfect and that's the important part for me ...just I'm not sure they're worth extra money for the Gore-Tex.

To spend nearly a hundred dollars for gortex waterproof shoes you would expect to receive a pair of quality waterproof shoes that will last. After wearing these shoes for 8 weeks the glue holding the uppers began to separate and they were not waterproof anymore. I sent them back and got other pair to which the same thing happened. My advice is you want to spend the money for high quality waterproof shoes, don't buy these.

I purchased a pair of Moab Gore-Tex XCR shoes three and a half months ago. I am an outdoor educator so I wear them every day for working and hiking with students. I am very upset and disappointed in the quality of these shoes- they have not held up to the task at all!

The outside portion of the shoes have already ripped off and the sole is separating from the top of the shoe. I do a lot of outdoor activities but this is ridiculous! I've had a pair of basketball shoes hold up way longer and under more strenuous use. The waterproofing is now useless as water seeps in at the bottom.

This is my first Merrell purchase and will most likely be my last given the poor quality. The company came highly recommended by my coworkers but I have my doubts now.

As a creature of habit, I have owned this exact "model" (Moab) of shoe for a number of years. My current pair have lasted almost 2 years of very hard abuse, so I set about ordering up another new pair. For $139, I expected the same quality shoe I had been accustomed to. Imagine my surprise when the new ones arrived and are of terrible quality compared to previous year's versions. Given that the FIRST line of the description says "leather and textile", I actually expected them to be "Leather and Textile" as my past pairs had been...

No more leather - nope...none to be found. I don't think there is a stitch of leather anywhere on these shoes. "Pleather" Maybe, but Leather it is not (as in past versions, and as in the description). Also, the shoelaces are just to short. Past versions were on the long side, but that's OK..certainly much better than having only 2-3" to tie with.

I'm just disappointed to see yet another brand that had built a good following based on making a quality product at a fair price, now turn to just making "another cheap shoe" to compete with everyone else on the bottom end (yet still charge a premium). The new version is visibly lower in quality, lower quality in feel, construction, etc.. I'd say if you're expecting the Merrell shoes of yesteryear - move on to another brand if you're paying this kind of money.

If you look at the zoomed in pictures of the "Chocolate" or "Granite" shoe, you can see all the Pleather...however, the pic of the "Walnut" shoe still shows real Leather. Why does this matter? Well, the fake leather is notorious for just being low quality and wearing out quicker than the real thing. Also, at this price point you don't expect Fake leather.

Oh...last thing. I ordered the same size as the past 3 pairs - this time I had to return them and get a 1/2 size larger...I guess the new Pleather shrunk the shoe.
