I purchase this shoe originally because I work outside in all kinds of weather conditions. I have tried many other waterproof shoes and weatherproof boots, usually the ones that were the most watertight were the ones that were big and clunky and uncomfortable. I have been looking for a while and stumbled across this pair of Gore-tex shoes. I ordered a pair and wore them the next day pushing carts in pouring rain. I worked outside for about 8 hours that day, and my feet stayed completely dry and even better, they were very comfortable all day too! I would definitely recommend these shoes to anyone for just about any type of use involving walking and different weather conditions.

I had owned a pair of Moab Ventilators before and loved them, just wore them out. So this time I bought the GoreTex version in prep for an upcoming trip where dampness is likely. These are just as comfortable as the regular ventilators and they come in wide widths, which are very hard to find. You can't get them in stores and even struggle to find the online. I highly recommend this shoe for moderate levels of hiking.

I'm very happy with these shoes. They keep my feet dry during walks through wet snow and slush. I bought them for early morning walks when the grasss is wet with dew and I think they will work great. I bought them in 12 wide and these shoes are actually wide enough for me to wear a thick pair of socks. Haven't had them long enough to rate the wear of the sole, but so far, so good.

I love these low hikers from Merrell. These is my second pair and this model is a little bit lighter in weight, but seems to have all the same great workmanship and materials as the Outland model. I selected the Beluga color and these go great with dark blue and black jeans.

A great multi-purpose hiker that will work for a wide variety of uses...

I bought these to wear in the heat and gravel terrain in Iraq and love them!! they are "heavy" compaired to my oakleys, but way more comfortable!! cant even feel the rocks under my feet!!! really breathable too!! highly recommended for all summer uses!!!

I bought these shoes on the basis of reputation and price to replace some Columbia low-top hikers that I had worn out. I wanted Gore-Tex, as I'm planning some trips to rainy climes this year. They're nicely made and initially feel and fit great. I have worn them four times on 3-4 mile walks mostly on pavement. About a half-mile into the stroll, the extreme arch on the sole, which feels misplaced (a few mm behind where it should be) begins to dig into my foot, causing it to hurt like hell. Left shoe is worse than right. I've been hoping that this is a break-in issue, but so far, the pain persists. This may be an idiosyncrasy with my foot, but it's the first time I have experienced it with any shoe. Usually, I notice when there isn't sufficient arch support.

Interestingly, this is not something I noticed when I put the shoes on, so had I tried them on at a brick-and-mortar store, I would have bought them anyway. I'm glad these shoes work for most of the folks here, but I'm thinking of going back to Columbias.

I've done everything in these shoes: hiking in Colorado, canoeing in Virginia, November steelhead fishing in New York, Walleye fishing on Lake Erie. They are by far the most maintenance-free shoe I've ever owned. They are definitely waterproof, and the synthetic material actually kept my wet feet warm in 40-degree temperatures (don't ask me how, but I was surprised).

Two problems with these shoes:

1. too narrow. I got a blister the first hike with these shoes, and my right little toe tends to rub often when I wear them. I even got a 1/2 size too large.

2. shoestrings are junk. The tubular shoestrings will NOT stay tied. I bought a $2 pair of flat strings and they've been fine.

I would recommend this shoe, but if you think you have wide feet, you better walk around in them first!

My husband is a teacher, on his feet all day. He also has a triple E foot in other shoes. He was in search of the perfect, comfortable shoe and found it in the Merrell Jungle Moc. The 2E in the Merrell has been widen enough for his wide foot which is something of a miracle. He had been complimented by both staff and students who take one look at the shoes and remark how comfortable them must be. Something I questioned when we bought them was their appropriateness in the work place but the suede shoes are fine for business casual. The husband started out with one beige pair, wore them out and got a 2nd pair. I bought him a grey pair when I couldn't get black. Today I'm buying the 3rd pair of beige and finally a black. I can't even say he wears them out quickly because he wears them every, single day, all day. If you're on the fence, don't be; buy a pair and have content feet.

I love these shoes! My third pair and still loving them. 1st pair melted in a fire but kept my feet safe. User error! The second pair were chewed up by a dog. Again, user error! The third pair (Merrell Moab) fit perfect, feel great, and look sharp.

I like Merrell's style and construction. They make a solid shoe that holds up to a lot of wear and tear. This is my first pair of the GORE-TEX variety. They seem to run a little smaller than a previous pair of non-GORE-TEX Merrells that I own. Overall, I'm very happy with this pair of shoes.
