I love these shoes -- they are funky and fun and the dark ones will go with just about anything. I really love wearing them.

Unfortunately, when I put them on, I felt like I was wearing clown shoes. Seriously. The shoes were sent by a different vendor (not eligible for Amazon Prime) so I emailed that vendor. They sent me a paid return label and the shoes went into the original packaging back to that vendor. I ordered a second pair a half-size down and while they are still a little roomy, they're okay (I wouldn't run in them).

Sometime later I decided I should get a pair of the brown ones, so this time I took a chance and ordered a 6 (instead of my usual 7.5) and they are perfect. I knew they were going to be unavailable soon, so I got them while I still could.

The problem with the shoes isn't that they are too big, it is that they are mis-labeled. The interior label and box labels confirm this as they show the US size 7, but a European size 37.5 - which is actually closer to a US size 7.5. I don't know how this got past Merrell quality control, but maybe that is why these shoes were discounted. This is definitely the problem as the shoes felt bigger than I expect from a size 7 and I couldn't figure out why. I think they screwed up and just put the wrong US size on these shoes, although the European size seems accurate.

This shoe was well made and attractive. Unfortunately it ran big and I had to return it. It was on sale , but with the cost of shipping both ways it was not such a good purchase. I should have kept the shoes and donated them somewhere!

This one went right back - the leather looked worn and faded. Not the usual Merrell high standards.

This pair are wider than I thought, but it's comfortable for walking. One thing is I need tiny pads to patch at the back. (The leather somehow scratches at the back of my ankle.) If I wear socks, there's no problem. Overall, it's good and comfortable.
