5.0 out of 5 stars Love these boots!
This is my husbands second pair in three years. He works for FedEx and is in and out of the truck all day and these boots are not to heavy and clunky. They have great tread on the bottom which helps keep him from falling when unloading and loading his truck in the snow and ice. 1.0 out of 5 stars Not water proof at all
I bought this Merrell Boots for winter time. They should be water proof but they are not. The toes get wet even with a small water puddle. Not a good product at all.

This review is from: Merrell Boots Men Mens Thermo 6 Black Waterproof Vibram Hiker Boots J82727 (Apparel)
This is my husbands second pair in three years. He works for FedEx and is in and out of the truck all day and these boots are not to heavy and clunky. They have great tread on the bottom which helps keep him from falling when unloading and loading his truck in the snow and ice. I would recommend these boots to any one who is out in the snow and ice all day and works a lot outside. The only reason this is his second pair is because he wears the soles off of shoes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good versatile boots, August 11, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I have ordered 6 pairs of these boots over the last two years. The first pair finally gave up after miles of hiking, ATV'ing and motorcycling. The quality is consistent and the comfort level is perfect for my needs. I have a couple clean(er) pair to wear around the city and a couple of dirty pair-wear them in the woods and for construction projects. While they work well in colder weather keeping your feet unexposed from the elements they also work in warmer climates. The synthetic uppers are worry free as they never require treating or weatherproofing. The soles grip better than most vibrams I've used in years past. A cost effective pair of hiking boots vs the ridiculous prices they're asking for good hiking boots these days. I prefer Merrell over Keen's design any day.

They look good. They are comfortably. They keep my feet warm and dry. That is all I can ask from a snow boot.

My Husband LOVES his new Merrell's. He wears them hiking and even to work. They will make great boots for motorcycle season as well. Very sturdy construction and keeps his feet dry.

5.0 out of 5 stars great boots, December 5, 2010

Bought these for my son last year and you can't get him to wear anything else. So this year I bought a pair, size 14, for me. Can't find that size in most boots. They are a dream...warm, comfortable, easy to lace, and great treads. These are high enough for the snow I face in upstate NY, but low enough to drive the school bus every morning. Great boots

4.0 out of 5 stars Good fit and comfort, January 10, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Took these out for the frst time for a long walk in a snow storm. Feet remained warm and dry. I yet have to test them in the creek for waterproofness but so far I would rate this item very well and would recommend it to anyone wanting to hike or Trek in the winter. Its functionality and ability to attach ice walking devices or snow shoes is a big plus for me since I like to go "offroad" or "off the beaten path" when I walk. I am becoming a big fan of Merrell boots and footgear. The design for the grip on this sole is worthy of almost anywhere I would dare to tred. Aggressive yet it rolls with your step.

4.0 out of 5 stars men's waterproof boots, January 6, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
these boots were great, my husband has an odd, not easily found, shoe size and wanted another brand but that brand didn't make the boots he wanted in his size. So I ended up getting these and he loves them.

Great fit right out of the box. Comfortable and made well for outdoor work. I would recommend it to a friend, but tell an enemy to buy a lessor shoe.

4.0 out of 5 stars Pacific Northwest Hikers, December 14, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these boots because I was in need of some seriously waterproof footwear for hiking during the winter in the Pacific Northwest. I chose them because I tend to get cold feet and they looked like a good pair of wellys crossed with monster hiking boots, which is just what they turned out to be. I wouldn't recommend them to wear while playing video games in the nice warm house because your feet will feel like they are in a jungle in Malaysia.

They get great traction in mud, clay and muck. I have been in water up to the top of the leather uppers and my feet stayed dry. I bicycle in them in the pouring rain and have taken several long hikes as well. They were really stiff at first around the tops, but I kept them laced loosely until they broke in a little and lo and behold my ankles have finally stopped bleeding.

Make sure that you keep a firehose to clean up after you take them off, as they track in mucho mud.I hope that the rubber tips on the ends of the toe stay attached, as they look like a weak point to me. I will update this review to report how they handle wear and tear. I have been recently disappointed with Merrel's hiking boots and would love to sue Merrel for the cost of the glue if the tips of these come loose.

Happy Hiking!
