This Merrell shoe has a Vibram Siren TC5 + rubber outsole with a heavy lug pattern in high friction areas and enhanced tread for vital traction. I went to a local Sporting Goods store to look for hiking shoes. I tried several on and really liked these. I did try on a 9 and 9 1/2 (I usually wear a 9), and found that the 9 1/2 felt the best. I've been wearing them for lots of walking and hiking and really like them....and the color is dirt color, so they always look good. I'd recommend trying on the shoe at a store first to find the exact fit.

I have a new job where I stand on my feet all day and wanted something to wear besides running shoes of various vintages. The Siren Ventilators are supportive and super comfortable like other Merrells. I also love the styling. These puppies are total winners in my book!
