Better than barefoot,

I have to tell anyone, who has lower back or foot pain, to try a pair of Merrells. When you try them on, they feel comfortable, but once you wear them for a week, you'll never wear another brand of footwear (unless you have to). Most of their shoes need no "break in" time. I love the supple leather. These engineers think of everything. The rubber sole goes up the back of the heel, so when you kick them off, or drive, you don't ruin the heel. The Q form is unbelieveably comfortable to walk on. I own more than 20 pairs of Merrells, I have been wearing these for years. The cool thing about them is, when you see someone else wearing a pair, it's like you're both in a secret club. You know, you're walking in heaven.

Awesome; but buy a size smaller than usual,

These shoes are fabulous as many other reviewers have said. You can wear them with or without hose or socks and your feet won't get stinky or too sweaty. Also, no blisters. Amazing. I only ordered brown and am wishing I got black too. My feet can't wait until the black ones appear on my doorstep so that I can stop wearing icky black pumps. These have enough of a heel to make you feel like you're dressed up, but they are SO comfortable. I especially am grateful for these after running. Nobody likes heels when your legs are tired already. I can't say enough about these shoes and I'm not a shoe person. But yet I am quite compelled to go email all my friends and tell them about this shoe. I already tell everyone I see in person when I have them on, which is whenever I can have any amount of brown or softer colors in my outfit so that they match enough.
The sizing for Merrells always seems a little bigger than other shoes. I normally wear 10.5 in dressy sandals and 11 in running shoes or other closed shoes. A 10.0 fits perfectly in these Spire Emme shoes. (I wear barefoot or with trouser socks, not thick socks.)

The most comfortable work shoes ever.,

These are far and away the most comfortable work-appropriate shoes EVER. I've always loved Merrell hikers, but have just bought the Spire Emme. I think I'm going to have to buy them in the other color, too.

not as advertised,

I had high hopes for these shoes. I am in and out of airport security several times a week, and have had great luck with a pair of men's Merrell slip ons. This pair did not hold up nearly as well. The antimicrobial/anti odor was a joke. My feet do not smell, but within 3 days of wearing these, they did. I was never able to get rid of the odor, despite using different foot sprays and clean feet. Also, they scuff incredibly easy. A shoe polish lasts about a day. If you don't care how they look, they are reasonably comfortable, however there is some lateral instability that may not work with some knees for walking of any length. Definitely will not purchase these again.

Great Show,

I love this shoe it is really good for people who have foot problems and it is really comfortable. You do need to buy a size smaller since it does run big. Also beware that the red inside the shoe does fade on your feet and socks and turns them all a fun pink color.

Incredibly comfortable,

These are very comfortable shoes. I have narrow feet and the strap allowed me to adjust these shoes to fit perfectly. These run a smidge big. Wear with socks or order a half-size smaller than usual.

I've worn these shoes for 3 years and have never had a problem. I have to wear arch support insoles in all of my other shoes, but not in these. Fantastic for people with foot / back pain. I'm ordering a second pair!

Comfortable but not well-made,
This review is from: Merrell Women's Spire Emme Slip-On
These are very comfortable - especially for people with low back pain. However, I was very disappointed with how they were made. I wear them for work daily, and I work in an office, so most of my day is sitting and brief walking. The black covering on the heels and soles is peeling off and it looks really crummy. I invested extra money into buying this particular brand because I thought they would be well-made and comfortable. They are definitely comfortable, but I'm really, really disapointed with the peeling on the soles. I'm not sure if I would purchase another pair.

Disappointing...,
By J.M.B. "Honest Reviewer" (KY, United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Merrell Women's Spire Emme Slip-On
I have many pairs of Merrells and this is the first to disappoint. They look great and are cushioned well for all day wear, but there is definitely something wrong with the sizing or design. I have heard many times before, "order a size up" or "down" for certain Merrells, but I have always ordered my same size before and they have fit fine. These are snug in the toe but loose in the heel. I feel like I am wearing flip flops. A different size would not help that. It makes the idea of a professional shoe kinda moot if it does that flippy noise when I walk around the office. The strap is adjustable, but even on the widest setting it cuts into my foot - and at that level the shoes also fly off my feet, so I have them even tighter, and tried all the levels. If the strap was farther back I think it would feel better; the strap seems awkwardly close to the toe. I bought tiny hidden nylon socks with a gel heel pad to help me wear them - I spent $80 bucks on these shoes, so I guess I should do something! What a shame!!

Stylish and oh-so comfortable every day, every occasion shoe!,

I have completely worn out my first pair, and I'm now looking to replace them. I don't want any other shoe. I got these to be a nice, comfy pair of shoes for work. You know, to mix up with pumps. Instead, I wear them every day of my life. These are perfectly comfortable walking for miles in. Cute enough to wear to nightclubs or out to dinner. I should just throw out all my other shoes. (Well, maybe not...)
