This is a very small Dictionary and handy to keep by my computer. However in being so small(the smallest I have seen) it limits the amount of words. The print is small and rather difficult for older people to see. But just the same it is useful as a large dictionary would be awkward for my use.

I bought this dictionary for my children in 4th grade. It is perfect for them, truly pocket-sized when every other book they are lugging around weighs a ton.

Great size, easy to read but too few words for a real writer!

I would refer anyone to this pocket dictionary. It doesn't have all the words that a book shelf dictinary has but it is a good second.

I haven't not found a word in it yet; plus, it has the largest word bank of all the pocket dictionaries (that I found).

Yes, as others point out, this has fewer words than a full-sized Collegiate dictionary. Duh! However, this is the only dictionary on Amazon that actually fits in your pocket. That, to me, is the definition of a "pocket dictionary." It has the expected number of words and the right form factor for a "pocket dictionary." (It's about the size of a Blackberry.)

And here's something obvious: If you are an adult writer doing serious writing, you should have a serious dictionary, not a "pocket dictionary." However, if you need a dictionary (for whatever reason) that you can put in your pocket, then this one is just fine. I speculate that it is also perfect for younger writers, whether or not they choose to put it in a pocket.

This mini dictionary is easily placed in a backpack, satchel, or briefcase and is a handy reference for those times when you are not so sure of spelling or usage. I love it!

We bought this dictionary for our son going into 7th grade this coming fall. It was a recommendation from the school...easy enough. The way I see it, if a school approves its use then it must be a viable contender.

The size is perfect, not too heavy and a little shorter in length then a paperback. Fits in an small pocket of the backpack so its always with them when they need it...

This dictionary has a wide variety of words, including some that I had never heard of before. Although definitions can be short, they are explanitory for the most part. I like it alot, and I take it everywhere!

Bought the dictionary for my 5th grade daughter. True pocket size dictionary. She likes it and keeps in her school bag every day.
