Merrill's Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures (3 Volume Set),
This review is from: Merrill's Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures, 11th Edition (3-Volume Set) (Hardcover)
This 3-volume atlas set is great for anyone entering a Radiologic technology program (i.e x-ray techs). There are detailed explanations for positioning a patient, as well as detailed pictures of how the patient is to be positioned. This atlas also includes pictures of radiographs of the part to be imaged, as well as "good" and "bad" examples of radiographs. Each chapter pertains to positioning a different body part, or body area, and gives you a summary list of evaluation criteria for the actual radiograph that was taken. This is a great book to invest in, and is very helpful.

Understandable,
This review is from: Merrill's Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures, 11th Edition (3-Volume Set) (Hardcover)
I am currently using this book in one of my classes and it is packed full of information. For those of you who have a hard time comprehending what medical books are trying to say, this book is packed full of pictures upon how to position the patient and what the radiograph will look like if you properly positioned. The radiographs also have arrows pointing at different parts of the anatomy. I highly encourage this book to anyone who is trying to learn to be a radiologist or radiographic technician.

These books are valuable to any Radiography Program student. You will not only live by them through your program, but you will refer to them often after graduation. They are a 3 volume set, and very heavy! I realize there is now a 12th edition, but these books will still ptovide you with what you need to know. I am guessing the new editions may contain updated information in Volume III as far as Modailities, especially where CT may be concerned. (My personal opinion: Technology seems to change faster than the information in these texts.)

This book literally has everything you need to become a radiographer. We use it is two classes, and you'll so very often hear every radiographer refer to "Merrill's" (lovingly, of course). This is the twelfth edition, and my teachers still have theirs from when they were in school. This is one book you'll want to buy NEW and keep in great shape, because you'll refer back to it even after you pass your registry.

Title says it all. The three volumes weigh about 3 tons (feels that way lugging it to class). Clinics will have all versions, I've seen 8 through 10 and this is 11. You'll probably not actually use more than about 200 positions, but when some doc asks for a particular view, you can dig it up here.

Amazon has gone downhill!!!,

This review is from: Merrill's Atlas of Radiographic Positioning and Procedures, 11th Edition (3-Volume Set) (Hardcover)
This book is the bible for radiologic techs and needed in many programs however Amazon was incapable of delivering this book. I waited 12 days for this textbook for my classes and finally contacted customer service to ask them to expedite the shipping because I NEEDED it and they told me they did not even have it in stock. After hearing this I looked on the website to see if they still had it listed and they did saying falsely that it could be sent out in two days. I obviously knew that this was not my case because my order was made 10 days ago and could not be sent out nor could they tell me when!!! I used to rely on amazon for all my book needs but they are no longer the high caliber that I once regarded them as.
