This book was suggested to me by another music teacher. We both have a mix of Christian and Jewish students in our music classes, and we teach in several different neighborhoods. It was great to find both December holiday songs in one volume. There are two arrangements of each song, one beginning level, and one intermediate level with a duet accompaniment. All the beginning level arrangements include the complete song lyrics, and the intermediate level arrangements are intended to be performed by piano players. I was glad I could play the easier arrangements, and that the lyrics were in front of me as I played for the class. Great, too, that so many of the songs have been translated into several different languages. We sang "Jingle Bells" in Spanish for our Christmas program, and also included a couple Hanukkah songs along with the others. This is a great resource for classroom music teachers and for piano instructors, and I highly recommend it!

This collection is great for the classroom music teacher as it has both Christmas and Hanukkah songs. And as teachers, we all know not everyone celebrates Christmas, and many of our students celebrate both.

There are COMPLETE LYRICS to all the songs (the other reviewer must have missed something!), simple piano accompaniments, and more advanced arrangements with duet accompaniments. Many of the songs are also in Hebrew, German, Spanish, French, or Latin.

The sing-along, play-along CD is great for practicing and to use as background tracks for singers. It is very well produced.

All in all, a great practical choice for teachers and students that has been in print for almost ten years.

Just be aware that this book is mainly a simple piano book, not a song book. There are only a few songs in the book that include the lyrics to the song.
