Book Description

One fateful detour. A raging storm. She didn’t see this love coming…

Holding a knife against a child’s throat isn’t exactly how Dr. Paige Weston had planned to spend her Christmas holiday. But a jolt from an air pocket and here she is, performing an emergency tracheotomy as her flight to Fiji diverts to Kauai. The one place she swore never to return.

Beside the fact her patient comes first, what’s the chance she’ll run into her ex-fiancé—the man who jilted her when another woman turned up pregnant? Then she realizes the island hospital is woefully understaffed, forcing her to lend a hand. And upping the odds that her heart will hit more turbulence before she makes her escape.

Nathan Cross can’t believe his eyes. The emergency room doctor tending to his daughter’s cut foot is the woman he’s dreamed about every night since he was forced to walk out of her life. He should have been prepared for her indifference, but he’s blindsided by the need to hold her in his arms. Just one more time.

Yet Fate is a trickster, leaving him wondering if he should grasp for a second chance…or take his punishment for one, long-ago choice.

Editorial Reviews

Review

Fallen Angel Reviews – "Merry Christmas, Paige is a sexy, emotional tale of love, forgiveness and happiness. Paige was devastated when Nathan turned his back on her but never stopped loving him or wishing things had been different. She did the only thing that she could do and tried to move on with her life. Her strength and determination however was no match for the love they once shared. Nathan did what he thought was best at the time and let the woman he loved walk away. When he realized that he couldn't live without love, he makes plans to make things right, but before he can do anything fate steps in and brings what he desires right to his door.Ms. McKade has written a fast-paced story with memorable characters, plenty of heat and a touching plot that is sure to please readers and leave them with a smile on their face. 4 Angels! "

Joyfully Reviewed –  "Christmas is the time for miracles, including a second shot at happily ever after in this sizzling reunion story by Mackenzie McKade. Nathan and Paige are two people clearly meant to be with one another, but being in love and in lust with one another was never their problem. Old wounds, not to mention Nathan’s manipulative ex, stand in their way. While it’s true that Nathan made major mistakes in his past, the way he cares for his loved ones (particularly Paige and his utterly adorable daughter, Cami) went a long way to him winning me over. Paige, in turn, is a generous and forgiving soul who can’t resist falling back into Nathan’s arms, but at the same time realizes more than he the difficulties they face, in that it isn’t possible to simply pick up where they left off. Ms. McKade knows her way around, under, and through a love scene, and Merry Christmas, Paige definitely shows this. Readers are in for a naughty good time in Kauai as Nathan and Paige make up for five years apart, in every way. I always enjoy Ms. McKade’s books, and Merry Christmas, Paige is no exception."

Whipped Cream Reviews – "Ms. McKade writes emotional scenes beautifully, and you’ll need a box of hankies when Nathan and Paige face off for the first time in five years. It’s the initial intensity that snagged my attention and held my interest. Both protagonists are torn-up over the loss of love, but want one another so much your heart will cramp and knot. I had that heavy weight in my chest on more than one occasion, and will readily admit to experiencing that wrench in my gut and sting in my eyes that accompanies the desire to tear up. It doesn’t hurt that the sexual chemistry between the protagonists is so hot you’ll blister and wilt, and considering the length of the work, there is more than enough to satisfy erotica enthusiasts. Five years is an awful long time to burn for someone, and Nathan and Paige more than make up for it when they are reunited. I recommend Merry Christmas, Paige to readers that like stories with that have a fairytale feel but contain enough heat between the sheets to keep the blood pumping."

3.0 out of 5 stars mixed feelings... December 2, 2009
By Liz
Format:Kindle Edition
5 years ago Paige and Nathan had a whirlwind romance and became engaged. He had recently come out of a bad relationship with someone else. His ex showed back up pregnant. Thus ended Paige's happiness. They moved on with their lives but in complete misery. Then came the day they saw each other again and there began Nathan's quest to win Paige back.

Let me just start by saying that MM is one of my favorite authors. It really pains me to say anything negative about one of my favorite authors' books. But this book was very difficult for me to finish. Paige was the kind of female I never thought I would read in one of MM's books. In my opinion, she was completely weak and a pushover. She almost immediately gave in to Nathan, even after his horrible betrayal. She was desperate for his love and was willing to take it any way she could. I absolutely hate that. She'd done nothing but pine for him and never allowed herself to meet anyone new. I know he pined for her too but he was married with a child. It was painful for me to read a story that included such a weak minded heroine and such a disgustingly malicious exwife. Nathan barely stood up to her and he allowed himself to be ruled by her and his guilt. I'm just beside myself with disappointment. I love all MM's books. Its almost as if someone else wrote it, except for the fantastically sexy love scenes. Yes, everything always works out in the end in these love stories. Yes its incredibly romantic and you can sense how much they love each other. But I just can't believe they didn't have to work quite a bit harder to make things come together. In a horrible situation like this, you have a trust and hurt that would take a long period of time to rebuild and heal.

2.0 out of 5 stars A quick read and not really that great September 6, 2011
Format:Paperback|Verified Purchase
Paige and Nathan fell in love a world-wind romance but after Nathan's ex returns pregnant, Paige leaves Nathan. Fast forward 5 years later and before you can say "Merry Christmas" Paige and Nathan are back together, but it last this time?
I really wanted to like "Merry Christmas, Paige" by Mackezie McKade but I could not. Everything about it seem rushed and unreal. For two people who had not seen each other in 5 years, by page 40 they were in bed together and the whole interaction between Paige and Nathan's daughter just seem so unreal. After reading "Merry Christmas Paige" I have to say that I will be hard pressed to buy another Mackenzie McKade book at full price because this book was not worth the money that I spent for it.

Shame. Why would Paige go back to Nathan if he cheated on her AND got his ex girlfriend pregnant? I have to agree with another reviewer: This book was incredibly BORING!!!
