I've now read three 'Circle of Three.' books, and this is definetly the best so far, told from the point of view of my favourite character, Kate. As Kate, Annie and Cooper begin to learn more about Wicca and start going to a Wicca class to learn more about it, they meet a mysterious girl called Sasha and Kate and Scott begin having problems.

So much happens in this book but somehow it never seems rushed, and the information about Wicca is fasinating. The ending is a cliffhanger, but its all explained in the next book. I can't wait to read #4, but its not coming out here until October. :(
However, I can definetly say Circle of Three is a brilliant series and now one of my favourites.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good second book to the series, February 19, 2001
This review is from: Merry Meet (Circle of Three# 2) (Paperback)
Kate's facination with wicca takes a new turn in this book. As she continues to stuggle with her wish weather to be a witch or not she keeps on finding herself drawn to the craft. After attending a ritual for a Wiccan holiday, Kate meets two very important people. Sasha, another blessed wanna be who uses wicca for more as a way to get what she wants. And Tyler a mysterious male witch who's she finds herself attracted to even though she still is going out with Scott. Is Sasha really who she says she is? Should she go out with Tyler or Scott. Read this book you won't be dissapointed.

I loved this book mostly becasue the witches in this book were MORE real than ones you see on TV. There's not giant balls of flashing light or creating earthquakes with anger. There's just simple spells, and a real good introduction to wicca. It's really a facinating relgion. I hope you enjoy the book as much as I did. THe next one ("witch" I am half way through right now) is called Second sight and unlike the first too, it houses Copper as the main charecter.

5.0 out of 5 stars Pick this book up now!, February 11, 2001

This review is from: Merry Meet (Circle of Three# 2) (Paperback)
I found the first three books in this series at the bookstore on Friday night when I was looking for something cool to read this weekend. I haven't put them down! I LOVE supernatural, fantasy, and horror books, and these looked like something I could get into. I was really surprised when I read the first one and found out that they're about REAL witches and witchcraft. While there's some fantasy stuff in here, too, mainly they're about these three really interesting girls who discover what magic is really all about. This one, MERRY MEET, is my fave so far. I love the romance between Kate and Tyler, and I love how she has to choose between two guys. This is like reading an episode of CHARMED meets POPULAR and DAWSON'S CREEK. If the first three books are this good, I can't wait for the next ones.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the first..AWESOM, June 20, 2002

This book was great. We had gotten a little bit of a jist on Kate,Annie,Cooper in SO MOTE IT BE (Part 1) Now we were getting into the exploring part. We were still learning about the girls and I think even in 15 we will learn more about them.
I am very impressed with this. I don't think this series is Just for teens though. I am 27 and I enjoyed it. I read to see if I could get into Pagan Novels.I DID. this book is great. I am already into book 2 and will let you know how it goes. My only issue with this book is I was away when I finished it. I had gone on a day trip and got stranded at a hotel. I finished the book there and went nuts trying to wait to get home to open Second Sight(part 3). I have already decided after part 2 that I am going to just buy the entire series at one time. They are also a GREAT PRICE. ENJOY,LEARN,GROW AND JUST HAVE FUN.

Gr. 7-9. In her second entry in the series (Circle of Three), Bird tells the story of Kate Morgan, a high school sophomore, who is initially exposed to witchcraft. The story circles around a group of high school students in contemporary settings.

At first, Kate uses magic to get Scott¡¦s attention when he was supposed to attend a Valentine¡¦s Day dance with somebody else. Then, Sasha causes their break up by using the same ¡§come to me love spell¡¨ cast to get Scott while Sasha was getting closer to Kate and Kate was going out her way to help her with homework. Sasha first went after Kate¡¦s boyfriend, then, trying to get her friends, and seems she tries to control her life as well. Why would Sasha do that to someone who had only been her friend?
As dramatic as the story becomes, Kate develops her own identity and rediscovers the importance of trust.

It is a story about friendship, betrayal, and trust, jealousy, adventure and forgiveness. It is also an unconventional story by being touching, unpredictable, and the characters are vividly drawn.

The vocabulary is fluent and easy to understand. It is a pocket book, simple to carry and the price is affordable for teens. It offers considerable amount of tension and suspense to the readers....

It was not until half way of the book that it started to attract me. I would have put it aside if it were not for the school assignment; however, this story will appeal female young adults without pushing.

I was pretty good! Kate, Annie, and Cooper go to a Wiccan ritual. There they met a boy named Tyler, who Kate has the hots for even though she's got Scott! (this girl goes through guys like some of us go through paper!) They also met a girl named Sasah, she seems nice, but she's a little questionable when she starts to hang with Kate and her other friends. The trio join a Wicca 101 class, so does Sasha. More things happen to, if you read you find out! Happy trails!

I loved book one but book two really gets things going. I just could not put it down. I am hooked on the Circle of Three. I have book three and cannot wait to get into it. I am sure it will be great as well. I am glad book 4 is almost ready to come out however, I might go crazy waiting for book 5 to come out in May. Smile. This is a great story.

5.0 out of 5 stars What if someone were trying to take over your life?, March 13, 2001

Kate Morgan isn't sure how much she wants to learn about the craft, but her friends are really into it and she doesn't want to let them down. So when they find out about a ritual that is going to take place she decides to try it out. It is here that she meets Sasha, who is new to the area. At school Sasha manages to befriend the Graces, Kate's other set of friends who are all about popularity. At first Sasha's pretty cool, but then Kate and her boyfriend Scott breakup and he and Sasha are seen hanging out. Kate finds out that Sasha has used the "Come to Me Love Spell" on Scott, even though she knew he was with Kate. And when the Graces start sticking out for Sasha instead of Kate, she's sure that Sasha is trying to take over her life. And Sasha is hiding a secret that will shock everyone, including Kate. This book really had me hooked, and I'm glad I found #3 to go along with it. Isobel Bird knows how to tell a story and I have a feeling this series is going keep getting better and better.

Being the second book in the fifteen-book series "The Circle of Three", this further introduces to us the concept of Wicca and the three teenage girls that decide to explore it. Kate, Cooper and Annie are three very different girls that met over a spell that went awry, and as a consequence discovered a subculture of Wiccan practices at work in their town of Beecher Falls. Like the previous book "So Mote It Be", the story is predominantly told through the point-of-view of Kate, a popular girl who is trying to juggle her ditzy friends with her newfound interest in Wicca and her friendships with Annie and Cooper.

In "Merry Meet" we are introduced to two major reoccurring characters, Sasha (a young runaway who also becomes interested in Wicca) and Tyler (a male-Wicca that catches Kate's eye) and the trouble that both cause in Kate's life as she constantly tries to keep her Wiccan interests hidden from her friends, especially the bossy Sherrie and her boyfriend Scott. Though it ends on a cliff-hanger, it is reasonably fast paced and draws upon certain storylines that were introduced in the first book (with plenty of room for the sequels).

Together Kate, Annie and Cooper commit to a dedication ceremony that requires them to study Wicca for a year and a day - the stories that follow are each centered around a particular girl and her experiences. Isobel Bird does an adequate job of presenting three independent girls and a (mostly realistic) view of Wicca. Unlike the type of witchcraft you would find in "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Charmed", there is a firm grounding in reality, i.e. no levitating, flashes of light or fighting demons. However, Bird does sometimes slip too far in the opposite direction, as often her stories are rather dull and anti-climatic; furthermore, I have heard complaints that the Wiccan religion isn't taken seriously enough in these books, portrayed as the sort of trendy, flavour-of-the-month gimmick. I could kind of see their point when there are lines like this: "Ritual begins at five, with potluck after."

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than book one, March 14, 2003
This review is from: Merry Meet (Circle of Three# 2) (Paperback)
Sasha was the new girl in town. She met Kate, Cooper, and Annie at an Equinox gathering. She seemed to be starved for acceptance, love, and friendship. She was hard to trust though. After all, she had stolen Annie's spell book and did a spell to steal Scott away from Kate.

Soon the three find out that Sasha's whole life story was all lies ... and why.

**** In my opinion, book two was much better than the first. It left me with high hopes that the third will be great too! The only thing I did not like was that the book stopped suddenly and left me hanging. I much prefer no cliff hangers when I close a book. However, the story flowed smoothly and the author beautifully described the changes in Kate's life, as well as, how Kate matures. Kate is not my favorite character of the series though. I am hoping I get to see some stories in view-points from Annie or Cooper soon. ****
