I loved it,

This review is from: Merseyside Girls (Paperback)
An excellent book - I loved the story of the Siddons' sisters, Nancy who just wants to marry her fiance Stan, Amy who is love with her cousin Paul, whose name cannot be mentioned at home because of a family feud and Kate who falls pregnant to Jimmy at 16. Their father Alec is a police officer who has lots of secrets, their mother Ceilia also has secrets. The story takes place from 1939 to 1947 - so WWII features in the book.
This is my second Anne Baker book and it is just as good as the first. Enjoy!

This review is from: Merseyside Girls (Hardcover)
"Merseyside Girls" is the frist book that I read by Anne Baker and it was pretty good. Nancy, Amy and Katie are the Siddons girls. Nursing and some the pretty girls that you have ever seen to the outside world. But there home life is a nightmare, with their policeman father who holds many secrets. But in War-time England life is changing quickly for everyone. And with change, can come whole new lives.
Overall, I really enjoyed this book, the only reason that I didn't give five stars is that Katie seem a little too clueless for me. |
