The setup is simple, two men (a huge quiet ex-boxer and a talkative lanky Elvis impersonator) are driving a big rig and stop at a gas station in middle of nowhere. The local barflies see a chance for some excitement and start a fight. Then things get out of hand. The story is really just an excuse for some wild action and it delivers. The book is pretty open ended with a lot of room for a sequel (which I am eagerly awaiting).

The art is well done and very stylized, with clear influences from old animation. There are many homages to old cartoons scattered across the book, but few enough that isn't the dominant style. If you demand something that looks like the latest glossies from Marvel or DC, you will be disappointed. The palette is mostly muted, with plenty of gray, tan, and brown (red is the primary accent color) which perfectly captures the look and feel of a desolate roadside gas station. The author makes excellent use of perspective. Many panels are drawn from quite unusual angles: looking from under a truck, up in the sky looking down, down somebody's throat, or from the first person. The action is quite graphic, and anyone not into blood should stay away.

While the book is 80 pages, the story is only 58 of that. The rest is concept art and 4 pages from guest artists. Since most comics are $2.99 for 22 pages of story, I still consider the $9.99 this (currently) costs a fair price for a bound volume.

I like my comics to be a little off the mainstream, and this book is exactly that. It's a very fun read.

Rafael Grampa hits the scene like a hurricane -- or a punch from a stone screw-on fist -- with MESMO DELIVERY.

It's a simple hook: an Elvis impersonator and a boxer the size of a police wagon are driving the Mesmo Delivery truck, and its mysterious cargo, around and about. They make one little stop, it all goes to hell in a bucket.

The standout here isn't the story or the dialog or any of that -- not that it all isn't good; it's fantastic, if a little simplistic -- the art is the star of the show. It's a beautiful trainwreck combination of Frank Quitely, Geof Darrow, and Jean 'Moebius' Giraud, with the sort of energy that's been missing from comics for some time. It's comics on every drug without any of the side effects, save your nominal helping of weirdness.

It's a comic that'd look good on your shelf, and you'll be laughing with your jaw on the floor all the way through your first, second, and third reads.

I never heard of this comic before I saw it on the comic book store shelf and decide to buy it. Amazing choice. The art creates energy. The story is simple and incredibly paced. The action sequence at the end of this comic is one of the best I have ever seen in a film or a comic book. It's madness. Don't hesitate. Buy it.

This is the best thing I've read in a while. It's about an ex-boxer truck driver making a delivery with another man in tow to make sure it's done properly. Then, there's a fight. The artwork is amazing. The story goes from comedy to action to horror and does them all well. It's fairly short, but it makes good use of the space given and ends satisfactory. I can't think of a single thing I didn't like about the book. Great.
