This volume is an edited version of the lectures, including complete illustrations and extensive bibliographic references. The 31 chapters consider all aspects of mesoscale meteorology. After an introduction that discusses mesoscale classifications and typical forecast problems, the volume is organized in sections on observing techniques and systems, internally generated circulations, mesoscale convective systems, externally forced circulations, modeling, and short-range forecasting techniques and technology. As a textbook of mesoscale meteorology it will serve both practicing and student meteorologists.

Not a book for hobbyist,

This is an extensive guide that suited more to a meteorologist or a very serious hobbyist. You will need some background in meteorology and some math or this book will go over your head as it relays heavily on math to determine MCS. But if you want to know about MCS and how to forecast severe weather than this guide is for you.
