This review is from: Message to the Blackman in America (Paperback)
First, before you read this you should know that I have NO religious affiliation, so I am not trying to sway anybody.

Elijah Muhammad met W.D Fard Muhammad and became the prophet for the Nation of Islam. For the record it should be said, that the images of Fard, were that of a half white, half arab man. He looked in no way black. When Fard Muhammad(the godman of the Nation of Islam) was arrested he proclaimed himself a "White Man"(taken from the book Elijah Muhammad:An original Man). This might come as a surprise to his followers seeing as he had a message to the Black Man. Also what disturbes me most is, they sit here and preach Islam to you, and won't even mention the thousands of African slaves their are to Islam and the Arabs right now in Sudan. They won't say how many blacks in Africa are ashamed to say they are "Black and African," and would rather be classified, as anything but that. By changing our name from European names to Arab names, were just pushing off our Christian slave name and picking up our Arab slave name. Furthermore Elijah Muhhamed is responsible for "8" children out of wedlock. He was a total contradiction to the laws he was suppost to uphold. Look at those who knew better and were around at the time of the zenith of the movement. Muhammed Ali was once a member, but now he is a Sunni Muslim. Malcom X or El-Hajj Malik El-Shabbaz was a member that was killed for taking himself out of the movement. Clarence Smith, the founder of the Nation of Gods and Earths or 5%, was also killed for leaving. This is not a mistake and this is not a coincedence. When Malcom X made his Hajj he didn't even know that whites could be Muslims. He was embarrased because he didn't know anything of the Arabic script.

In the end, Islam and the Arab, is just as guilt as Christianity and the European. We do not need to create myths, to make ourselves feel superior, or make anyone else feel inferior. Dig into the African history starting with Kemet(or Egypt). "IN AFRICA, AND EVEN ALL OVER THE WORLD THE AFRICAN PREDECESSORS LEFT US CLUES TO TELL THEIR OWN STORY. THEY DON'T NEED US TO MAKE IT UP FOR THEM." Research people like Ivan Van Sertima, John Henrick Clarke, Dr. Ben, Runoko Rashidi, Gerald Massey, John G. Jackson, Ashrwa Kwesi, Cheich Anta Diop, and they will teld you. We do not need myths to create history. The history speaks for itself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Greatest Book Ever Written for the upliftment of the Black man and woman, August 9, 2005
By
Vizualfx (St. Louis, Mo.) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Message to the Blackman in America (Paperback)
The Message To The Blackman in America was my first encounter with a Real Powerful Black man dedicated to God (Allah) who was successful in life at bringing us together for the establishment of a Righteous, Peaceful, Equal and Harmonious civilization right here on earth NOW!

With that said,

Islam - means "Peace" and the only way to have peace and to affect peace into this world is through - Submitting your Will to do the Will of God (Allah). By aligning our Mind and Will with the Will of God all things become possible.

The Nation of Islam (NOI) does not teach "Arab Culture" as Arab Culture for some strange reason has become identified with Islam. So do not pick up this book expecting to learn about Arab Culture. The Hon. Elijah Muhammad nor Min. Farrakhan teaches Arab Culture and many who claim Islam are angry with them and their followers for this reason alone. It teaches Islam as defined by God (Allah) and the Holy Quran.

The Hon. Elijah Muhammad said he met with God (the Supreme Being) in the Person (or physical appearance) of Master Fard Muhammad. That He (Master Fard Muhammad) proved clearly to him that he was indeed who he said he was, God.

Now, if The Hon. Elijah Muhammad has indeed met with God (Allah) and submitted his Will to do the Will of God (Allah), then he should be successful in the Mission that God (Allah) has given him, which The Hon Elijah Muhammad says is to uplift Black people in America. Which means to me, waking them up to who they really are and showing them by example what the can have here and now. Once that is done, to take what we have and give it to humanity for thhe establishment of peace.

Lets look at the outcome of his meeting, learning and travels with Master Fard Muhammad whom he says is God (Allah in Person) and whom he spent approx. 3 years learning from. Learning what, according to the Hon. Elijah Muhammad, the Science of Everything.

He goes from another barely employed black man on welfare with a family to feed, to a successful Leader, Teacher, Businessman, Author, Philanthropist and Servant of God.

He builds a religious organization, the Nation of Islam with mosques in every major city in America. The basic teaching being the obedience to God (Allah) and the buiding of a Righteous Civilization.

He creates an educational system (ACTUAL SCHOOLS) throughout America, the University of Islam (k-12). Students learning the basics of any educational system but General Discipline, Civility, the Knowledge of Self and the importance of Unity and duty to your people as well.

He builds and Entreprenuerial Business empire:
Muhammmad Speaks Newspaper distributed nationally.

An Import Business rooted in Fish by which he could wean Blacks off of the harmful Pork we were indulging in every day of the week.

Books Stores that sold books he authored on How to Eat to Live, How to Win Friends and Influence People, Books on the Theologyy of God (Allah) and Time.

HE SETUP HIS OWN - trucking, shipping and distribution company by which products of the Nation (NOI) could reach people throughout thhe country and the world.

Several restaurants, barbershops and other smaller businesses were created as well. It is said that in 1975 the Nation of Islam was worth tens of millions of dollars.

He gives us a functional history and origin of Black and all other peoples of the earth. A history that scholars keep alluding to but also keep avoiding. Read "The Making of the Whiteman" by Paul Lawrence Guthrie annd "The Destruction of Black Cvilization" by Chancellor Williams

MOST IMPORTANTLY, he affected positive change in life for thousands of Black men and women socially, educationally, politically, financially and spiriitually. He made weak men strong, he gave dumb people (like myself) the desire to speak intelligently and boldly to any and everyone. He elevated the position of the Woman in the society of the NOI to that of Co-creator with God as opposed to the secondary negatively connotated position usually afforded her in the church. He transformed crooks, thugs, gangbangers into reflections of God!

Now FOUR very important things that stick out here in my mind:

1) ALL THIS FROM A MAN WHO SAYS HE MET WITH GOD (ALLAH).

2) ALL THIS DONE WITHOUT THE SPONSORSHIP, BENEVOLENCE and ASSISTANCE OF WHITE PEOPLE.

3) HE, A BLACK MAN IN AMERICA IN THE 1930'S, 40'S, 50'S 60' AND 70'S CREATES ALL THIS WHILE ATTRACTING AND UNIFYING THOUSANDS OF OTHER BLACKS AND NEVER ONCE TEACHING "LETS GO BACK TO AFRICA"

4)AND DOES THIS WHILE MAKING CLEAR WHO THOSE ARE THAT DISRUPTED OUR CIVILIZATION AND PEACE IN THE FIRST PLACE.

Such a man to my knowledge does not exist outside of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad. Its no wonder he was able to attract and create a Malcolm X, Louis Farrakhan, Muhammad Ali, Clarence 13X and many many more.

Oh and before you take for actual fact what others outside the NOI have to say in regards to Malcolm X at least listen to a full discussion of it by those who were in the NOI. For example, to say that Malcolm saw White muslims for the first time when he went to Mecca is not true. The Hon. Elijah Muhammad had already sent Malcom to Egypt years before that on behalf of the Nation of Islam where he saw white muslims then.

Read this book! Listen to thhe tapes Min. Louis Farrakhan has done on what really happened wiith Malcolm X ([...]). In one tape in particular the same women who had children by the Hon. Elijah Muhammad speak their peace as to what happened.

THINGS ARE NOT WHAT THE MEDIA PAINTS THEM TO BE - Which is usually the case when it comes to Black people in America.

Lastly, the first Arab people were Black people! Arabic is an Afroasiatic language, in other words, we created it ("African Origin of Civlization"). So for the Hon. Eliijah Muhammad to speak highly of the Arabic language is only to speak highly of our ingenuity. To speak highly of a people whom Prophet Muhammmad (PBUH) uplifted from idolotry and unified through the Quran, is to speak highly of what can be done with us.

The Message To The Blackman in America was my first encounter with a Real Powerful Black man dedicated to God (Allah) who was successful at bringing us together for the establishment of a Righteous, Peaceful, Equal and Harmonious civilization right here on earth NOW!

Peace

5.0 out of 5 stars Answer to the critics, September 20, 2010
This book may be one of the most important that I've read. This gives a base of the knowledge of the teachings of the Most Honorable Elijah Muhammad and what he represents. Every so-called African American man should read this book, forcibly if needed :) I would say to anyone curious of these teachings, to learn them for yourself and make your own decisions before picking up someone else's opinion. For instance, after reading some comments; @Richard J Godbolt, in your synopsis of the Sudan conflict between Arab and Black, do you mention that the Arabs in Sudan are also just as black as the Christian blacks? They only consider themselves Arab because they speak Arabic and practice Islam. So this conflict is black versus black, has nothing to do with Afghan-Iraqi looking Muslims. And by not speaking on the subject, you mean Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan taking a world trip and stopping in on the Sudan and talking with the leaders, which can be viewed at [...]. Elijah Muhammad does have children by more than 1 wife.... But so did Abraham, Jacob/Israel, Solomon, etc. If you were Muslim or actually read the Quran, you would know that Muslims are allowed more than 1 wife, under certain circumstances so long as it serves God's purpose, and that man is able to maintain a good life for the wife's and the children of the marriages; otherwise you get 1 wife. Did you know that the children of those marriages, are now married themselves, and have children, who have children; and that some of those children married children of the Honorable Minister Louis Farrakhan? Did you know that the wife's of Elijah Muhammad honor him, and praise Allah, for sending this man? This can be viewed here, [...]. Did you know there is a science of mating, which kings and queens of this world subscribe to? Which is why 1 king's daughter, marries another king's son (and not a commoners child); to make a stronger family and union. Oh, but I guess all that rational information was left out of your analysis. Why does what he have to say be myth, rather than history you don't know anything about? Almighty God is his source of knowledge, the writers you mentioned got theirs from a white man's school. Personally, I'll take the scholarship of Allah over any institution. @Anton Batey, did you know he only quotes from the Bible in order to teach the black people of America WHY NOT to read it. If that's the only scripture blacks read, and his job is to teach them something new; he must first teach from the book blacks are supposed to know best (although they don't). He never says the Bible is correct, in fact he says it is not correct, so does the Quran. But the truth in the book can be put to use, if one has the wisdom to understand what is wrong and what is right. On the Yakub story, well... what scientist of THIS world would you trust, knowing the devil owns this world? Did you trust science when Darwin theory of evolution was taught to you? Did you trust science when they told us CO2 was causing human made global warming? Did you trust science when they said we were the only life in the universe? You say people got their different features from being in different regions of the world and evolving based on climate. I ask you sir, how did these people get to these different areas and for what purpose? If all man started in one area, why the spread of people, the loss of knowledge of these peoples and reason? How long did it take for all peoples to develop completely different characteristics and we are all here for the same length of time? Did the characteristics changing start when there was still one mass of land, or after the split into continents? Was man on this planet, when there was one mass of land? Can your science of today answer that for us, or is there is higher knowledge that has to explain that for us? And again, you go to the science of this world, which can't even cure the common cold. How does the science of dominant and recessive genes, not explain the story of Yakub. Black features being dominant, and recessive being the weaker gene. If a person starts with black skin, and that person keeps mixing with recessive genes(someone lighter in color than themselves); the children of that dark person will be lighter than the father. Do it for 600 years, and see what you get. Let's not only go to the time of Elijah Muhammad's day, look at history from the time of the Greeks, about 4000 B.C. until the time of Christine O'Donnell's admission of witchcraft in 2010 (had to punch her while she's down). Who has caused the most destruction on the planet? Who has done the most damage? Effected the most lives, with a negative impact? So I say, no you are not qualified to speak on the Nation of Islam, because your understanding of the knowledge is not sufficient so it would be best if you would 'shish'. Not only that, the Nation of Islam has a longer history and more information than what came from Elijah Muhammad. If he stated something you did not understand, I'm sure another Minister has given a detailed explanation on all his teachings. Then there are others arguments who could be ripped apart, not even using Elijah's teachings. @James Tankersley; Then where does Yahweh come into play, because in Hebrew, that's who is in the Old Testament, not Jehovah, which is Greek. "J" doesn't exist in Hebrew so how then was his name rendered Jehovah? So there is only one name for God, even though there are thousands of languages with different words meaning the same in English - God? Not to mention the languages that were in existence thousands of years prior to English. What was God's name in those languages, both remembered and lost? I guess the Council of Nicea and the Kings James authorization of the Bible never took place, and these same scriptures are the same exact ones throughout 4000 years of history and being in the hands of not so Godly people, yeah right! @Sean Gerard, really, shows lack of intelligence huh? Genesis, before Sodom and Gomorrah are destroyed, 3 men appear before Abraham. One of which, Abram addresses as THE LORD; but he's not a man? Exodus, when Moses got word from THE LORD in the tent, the BIBLE says that Moses spoke to the Lord, face to face, as a man speak to his friend. Do you have any spirit friends? Christians believe Jesus was God, was he not a man? In the beginning was the word, and the word was made flesh; but God's not a man? Jews are awaiting the Messiah, Christians the 2nd coming of Christ, and Muslims the Mahdi; but these are all MEN, not SPIRITS! Luke 23, the genealogy of Jesus is recorded; which says Jesus is the son of Joseph. Who is the son of Heli, who is the son of Matthat. It traces all the way back to Abraham, Adam, and eventually God; but he is not a man? All of the children of God are men, but God himself is a spirit even though we are made in his image and his likeness? So who looks unintelligent now. Many people claim themselves to be God, such as @M. Novikoff. The Quran also says that Allah will send a messenger to EVERY nation. Does
America not deserve a messenger? Elijah never said he is a prophet, but a messenger. TWO different jobs. He never ascribes anything he knows, to be of his own knowledge but that given to him by God. But by whose authority do you make your claims? By whose knowledge and guidance? 1400 years after Muhammad, and there is no need for a messenger? Even though Muhammad himself said, 3 generations after him will no longer be of him. Are you Allah, do you know who
was sent and who wasn't? Because the Quran also says he sent messengers named in

this Book, and unnamed. Everyone here seems to claim to be the authority on religion, and I am by no means the authority(only God is) but for those who want to verbally bash someone's belief or concepts just because your simply minded brain can't grasp the concept, doesn't mean that it isn't true. I end with what I believe, Abraham, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad (since they are the base of all "so-called' monotheistic faiths, and they all had the same heavenly father, no matter what his name was revealed to be, AT THAT TIME) would have me say, "We will follow what our Lord has revealed to us, while you follow what has been revealed to you. Surely Allah, is sufficient as a witness for us and on the day of Judgment, he will be sufficient as a judge to decide between us where we differ. It has only been revealed to us, that your and our God is only One God and we are commanded to submit to the Lord of the worlds, and the creator of the heavens and the Earth. Surely, Allah guides not the transgressors!"
So for others who have not been informed on what Elijah Muhammad believes or stands for, read his words yourself. Do the research yourself, because those limited in knowledge are not able to comprehend such an ideal, but of course Allah warns us of that, for he it is who allows someone to see, hear, or understand; because he is the Best Knower, not you. Let me ask, can you prove anything that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad says 100% incorrect? Or, do you just disbelieve because your perception or limited knowledge doesn't allow you to understand? So if it's something you don't understand, don't reject what you don't understand, do what Solomon did, and pray for wisdom and understanding and it will come. If you don't, then I guess your just "ass" out! As salaam alaikum!

5.0 out of 5 stars Knowledge of Self and God is the best knowledge, July 18, 2004
By
Kathy Y. Davis (Paterson, New Jersey) - See all my reviews
Message to the Blackman is the best book in the world. It gives to the Black man and woman in America to keys to open up the truths of who they are, who God is, who the Devil is and so much more. Many may dispute that this is not true Islam, but if you truly study scripture in Bible and Holy Quran you will see the truths come to fruition. Many truths have been locked away for countless number of years from the black man and woman, and the world in general. Many of what we as a society have been taught by white people has been lies due to white supremacy. Message to the black man is an eye opener that tells in plain english what was stolen from us for years and the true knowledge of what is going on in the world. Religion, beliefs and our righteous moral values and birthright was stolen from the black man and woman and Elijah Muhammad through Master Fard Muhammad gave black people back all of this and then some...All praise is due to Allah for these teachings.

1.0 out of 5 stars The Black Mein Kampf, July 9, 2001
By
Andre M. "brnn64" (Mt. Pleasant, SC United States) - See all my reviews
Perhaps the most fitting title to this book would be "The Hate that Hate Produced," (after the 1959 NOI documentary). Righteous anger a'la Robert Williams and the Black Panther movement were understandable responses to the Black situation in America. But this wild combination of pseudoscience and rantings (for example, the chapter "The Making of Devil" which tells a ridiculous story of how a mad Black scientist created a "White devil race." a claim by Elijah that Moses used dynamite aginst the childrn of Israel, Elijah's claimm that God came in human form to him in Detroit to warn him of the White devil race, calling Dr. Martin Luther King ""ignorant" (mind you, Elijah never went past the 4th grade), etc. ad nauseum.

Granted, this mess was psychologically designed for the most ignorant of African-Americans in the ghettoes. But it must also be remembered that the NOI was infamous for fratracide. To those who claim that these crack pot teachings in this book helped reform a lot of people, I say, "Hitler also brought jobs to Germany and Mussolini made the trains run on time-BIG DEAL!"

1.0 out of 5 stars The NOI is stupid beyond belief, May 28, 2010
This is not so much a book as a collection of assertions, and incredibly stupid assertions at that. Most of the start of the book is devoted to persuading the reader that God/Allah was not a spirit but a man, obviously this contradicts both the Bible and the Qur'an and the author reveals his lack of education and intelligence by justifying the blasphemous central tenet of his ridiculous cult with some incredibly moronic and self-contradictory "logic".
This tome is interesting only in the sense that the reader is left astonished that anyone could actually believe such utter nonsense as some sort of divine truth. Many of EM's statements are comical, such as when he disregards the Parable of the Samaritan as a valid response to the question "who is my neighbor" because Samaritan's and Jews didn't live in the same neighborhood! Then obviously there are the "scientific" teachings, which are like a black supremacist version of Scientology - only much dumber!
The people who consider this book to have been important to them obviously have real psychological problems, of which the NOI is the fruition not the solution - but I guess we all know who they'll blame for that!

5.0 out of 5 stars THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED, April 26, 2005
This review is from: Message to the Blackman in America (Paperback)
THE BEST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO THE HONARABLE ELIJAH MUHAMMAD WAS MEETING MASTER FARD MUHAMMAD. THE BEST THING THAT HAPPENED TO THE BLACKMAN IN AMERICA WAS THAT ELIJAH MUHAMMAD WASN'T AFRIAD TO SPEAK OUT ON WHAT WAS TAUGHT TO HIM BY MASTER FARD MUHAMMAD. REGARDLESS OF HOW YOU MAY TAKE HIS TEACHINGS, THE POINT OF THE MATTER IS UNLESS YOU HAVE PROOF TO DISPROVE ANYTHING HE SAID,TAKE YOUR HEAD OUT OF EUROPE'S CHRISTIANITY, READ AND RE-EDUCATE YOURSELF TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOD(ALLAH) THE WAY HE WOULD WANT US TO. ELIJAH MUHAMMAD DID, AND BECAUSE HE DID IT SO VIVIDLY, MANY IN THE WHITE AND CHRISTIAN COMMUNITIES DENOUNCE HIS WORDS AS FALSE. I HAVE ONE QUESTION AND THIS GOES TO ALL RELIGIONS.....WHO'S RIGHT?

5.0 out of 5 stars If it is false, Prove It!, December 11, 2004
This review is from: Message to the Blackman in America (Paperback)
The history of man has been interpreted through the ages in so many different forms that to discard the claims in this book without proper research is outright ignorant. Many people deny what Elijah Muhammad was saying without having a full or partial understanding of what he said. One should remember that some of the greatest Black minds in America studied this book. Malcolm X, Muhammad Ali, Minister Louis Farrakhan and many others.
Message to the Blackman in America is A book of enlightenment. It challenges the version of the bible that has been given to us, however, it does not discount it completely. Muhammad gives us a message of Love of self, protection and elevation of the black woman. He teaches duty to prayer and he even lays out an economic blue print for black independence.
There are those that will latch on to the History of Yakub and the History of Musa because that time period is thousands of years before our existence and it is the easiest thing to debate, especailly without the benefit of research. Truly religious scholars still do not agree with scientist and there is disagreement within each group on endless points of history.
But I challenge those who deny the histories in Message to the Blackman to look into it a bit before you right another review. You may very well be surprised.
