From beginning to end, the language is clear and concise, the English perfect and easily understandable. This is a fine piece of writing, and the book stands on its own, ready to enlighten any English reader in a whole new way, and for that, the authors are to be congratulated.

This is one of the better translations of the Quran that I have read. The language is simple and the words are clear and concise. I commend the group behind this work for bringing the words of God to people at a time when Islam and Muslims are taking lot's of unfair criticism and heat.

The authors of "The Message: A Modern Literal Translation of the Koran" have adopted a wonderful and novel approach to introduce the Final Testament to mankind. If you could never read the available translations of the Koran beyond a few pages beause they made no sense and they were dull and boring readings ... what a delightful READING this is.

This book has fulfilled the need of our times for Moslems and non-Moslems alike. The authors translate with confidence, honesty, boldness and clarity. Their grasp of the subject is awesome.

It is difficult to put down this HOLY SCRIPTURE and it is difficult to disagree with this "modern literal translation" because it is so convincing. The entire humanity is very blessed to have authors of such merit extending their knowledge of Arabic language to serve Islam and its holy scripture: Koran. The authors' masterpiece is an ever-lasting Beacon of Light for all!

This is the one I've been waiting for. It's been a long time coming, but definitely worth the wait! The first english translation that's easy to read and understand, but most importantly without one particular author's bias. No interference of brackets and commentaries!... what a relief! I've read this translation several times, and can't get enough of it!
"This is the Scripture in which there is no doubt, a guide for the righteous." (Quran 2:2)

I am lucky enough to have both the first print of this wonderful book as well as the second. while the second printing offers some interesting and helpful additions it would still be nice to see a side by side arabic writing of the quran as well as amaybe a transliteration. other than that i like the fact that the book was written with little use of outside sources. no hadith etc.

I liked this translation for the reason that it is very simple and straightforward to read and understand. I disagree with the previous comments which sound like they are being made by a Sunni or Shiite sectarian and hence the opposition to the simple and powerful message of God alone.

Islam has no sects and no denominations. Anyone who thinks otherwise is forced to lie about God in order to support their idols.

"Is God not enough for His servant? And they frighten you with others beside Him. And whomever God sends astray, then for him there will be no guide." (Quran 39:36)

I read this book and liked it a lot. When comparing to other translations I found this to be much closer to the Arabic meaning and quite genuine in its objectivity. I recommend this for whomever is looking for a pure undertsanding of the Moselm book.

This is the finest translation I have had the pleasure of reading in all my time of being a Muslim.

It is written in clear and accessible language, free from any kind of subjective footnotes and free from sectarian or gender bias.

If there is any justice in the world this will become a best seller!

I have this book, and when I pick it up it is so hard to put it down. I have read so many other English Translations and did not understand much at all. This book is so clear and concise, that not only do I understand it,, but I actually remember it. I would definitely reccomend this book to anyone who can read. It has changed my life being able to read the Quran in English where the meaning comes through not the busy parenthesis that confuse matters. I like it simplistic language without commentary and literal translation. Beautiful. absolutely beautiful. Glory be to God!

The first thing is, the language it's written in is good. Quite simple and clear. The reader will often notice the translation differs in many areas compared to traditional translations, which is a good thing most of the time as it gives you an alternative view. Definitely worth a read.
