Take the chance, it's really good stuff,
By Sam G "NuClearG" (Dallas, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Message Through Your Teeth (Audio CD)
My first thought on listening to A Message Through Your Teeth was, "Wow, what a weird effect on the guitar... WAIT, THAT'S A HORN!"Thought this CD Clocks in at only 20 minutes it is quite a ride. It sounds a bit like My Chemical Romance if you stripped away the high gloss production and added a healthy dose of ska. Though that description doesn't really do them justice. The music is fresh exciting and very well recorded. They are high energy, angry, pounding, melodic and smooth. Give these guys a chance, they won't disappoint.

This is an awesome CD. The Killing Moon is an awesome band. They have a very interesting style. This CD although only only 5 tracks is still about a good 35 minutes of music. This is probably my favorite band of this genre. If your into the emo music this CD is a must.

Screamo-core; Not For Radio,
By Robert A. Williams "libertarian" (Oberlin, OH United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Message Through Your Teeth (Audio CD)
The Killing Moon have a long way to go before they become a chart topping hard rock band - they are just too loud and too mean for popular radio. This is screamo-core: provocative rock and roll that draws upon hardcore of the Tuff McGruff variety and upon elements of melodic rock, then escalates the intensity of the melodi-core with winds and horns. Hardcore fans will love this and probably give it a 5! There are moments, however, when Ryan Hannan's screamo-voice indicates his potential for radioable vocals. That said, if you like hardcore, you'll love The Killing Moon. Fans will find these tracks to be creative and catchy. This genre was just too noisy for my ears - and unable to block out the screams, I quickly dissected my Walkman.
