Book Description

November 15, 2001
This fascinating book documents hundreds of ice crystal patterns photographed in a special "cold laboratory" in Japan from 1994 to 1999. Emoto became interested in the life energy in water (Hado in Japanese, or Chi in Chinese), and began to investigate the crystallization patterns of water from pure and polluted sources. The difference in the patterns was striking, and the first half of this book documents the beautifully formed, harmonic patterns found in water from pure sources such as rivers, lakes and springs, as opposed to the poorly formed, often non-crystalline shapes formed from impure water. The second half of this book is what makes it so unique. Emoto discovered that water was extremely sensitive to vibrations, and not only physical vibrations such as music and speech. He devoted several years to photographing the formation of ice crystals from water which had been "treated" in various ways. He had monks recite prayers over the water, played music for it, even taped words on the outside of small vials of water, all with remarkably distinctive effect. Since water constitutes some 70% of both the human body and of the earth, his thesis is that these experiments demonstrate empirically the direct physical impact that thoughts, speech and emotions have, not only on water, but on these larger, more complex systems which are largely comprised of water. Second volume goes further into the phenomena mentioned above, with hundreds of beautifully photographed, exquisitely formed water crystals. This volume focuses entirely on the effects upon water of thoughts, feelings, prayer, music, even subjecting water to photographs of sacred sites and placing it in crop circles.

About the Author

I was born in Yokohama in July 1943. I graduated from the International Relations course in the Department of Humanities and Sciences at Yokohama Municipal University. In 1986 I established the I.H.M. Corporation in Tokyo. In October of 1992 I received certification from the Open International University as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine. Subsequently I was introduced to the concept of micro cluster water in the US and Magnetic Resonance Analysis technology. The quest thus began to discover the mystery of water. I undertook research of water around the planet not so much as a scientific researcher but as an original thinker, as a human being. At length I realized that it was in the water crystal that water showed us its true nature. I continue with this experimentation and have written a variety of well-received books in Japanese. Some of these books are translated into various languages. I am currently the head of the I.H.M.General Research Institute Inc., the President of I.H.M.Inc.and the chief representative of I.H.M.'s HADO Fellowship.

5.0 out of 5 stars Science validates the impact of intent, September 19, 2004
It is filled with stunning pictures of different water crystal formations showing the impact of words, blessings and music. The before and after pictures of water from lakes, rivers and even tap water are astounding. The after pictures show the same water transformed by words, pictures, prayer, blessings, music and fear. It clearly shows the impact of what you say, hear and see. Waters from around the world were used, giving you some thought provoking consequences to consider on protecting the environment. A 'must read' for everyone with families and those who are in the business world.

4.0 out of 5 stars Influences on the crystalline structure of water, January 6, 2005
Masaru Emoto presents outstanding pilot experiments on mental, vibrational and spiritual influences that can alter the crystalline structure of water.

Masaru Emoto is a Doctor of Alternative Medicine (Open International University). He has been studying the micro cluster structure of water using Magnetic Resonance Analysis. Emoto found that when water from polluted sources is frozen, the crystals have a disorganized, aesthetically ugly appearance. When healing or prayer is directed to the water, its crystalline structure changes to beautiful, symmetric patterns.

The power of words is suggested in experiments in which positive and negative words were written on pieces of paper and taped to bottles of water from the same source. Correspondingly pretty, symmetrical crystals or disorganized, aesthetically unpleasing forms were produced. Classical music produced aesthetically pleasing crystals while heavy metal music (unspecified) produced chaotic patterns.

Emoto's explorations are ground-breaking beginnings at clarifying some of the influences of conceptual vibrations on water. As 65% of the human body is composed of water, this may provide new avenues to explain some of the influences on the body of mental intents and prayers for healing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Blown away by water, April 20, 2008
By
Somewhere along the line I missed the film "What the Bleep" and the book that accompanied it, Masaru Emoto's "Messages from Water," but when my minister at church referred to Emoto's scientific study and passed around the amazing pictures, I had to go straight home to the internet and order both. Emoto's study examined molecules of water under differing conditions, photographing their reactions to a variety of stimulii. While the findings are not astounding--one would expect even a raindrop to respond more gratefully to Mozart than to AC/DC--the pictures that prove the point are profound. What totally blew me away, though, was the way the water reacted to words that were typed and pasted to the jar, without even being spoken. Expressions of appreciation and love created lovely, graceful lacy snowflake-like images, while just the typed words of hatred and violence resulted in disgusting slides that resembled cancer cells. If water recoils from such negative outbursts, just think how we ourselves are buffeted: first, in the physical sense, as our bodies are made up primarily of water, but second--and more important--in the spiritual sense. "Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me"? Not so. Not in a million years. No wonder we need so much water--and so much positive reinforcement--in our lives. Maybe as we clean up our water supply, we'll consider cleaning up the rest of our lives, as well--at least in how we speak to others.
